Food Foundation
They Know We Are Here was a challenging project, demanding delivery to extremely tight deadlines and sensitive presentation of complex material. Sasha was brilliant to work with, leading confidently and reliably on the project and providing a polished and extremely powerful film over a very short time frame. Sasha took a humane and compassionate approach to engaging, interacting with and supporting the vulnerable adults and children profiled in the film, building strong relationships from the very start and ensuring the requisite safeguards were in place at all times. The final edit of the film presented a valuable campaign tool: it communicated The Food Foundation’s key messages clearly and compellingly, and the interviews at the centre of the film were hugely moving and memorable.

Working with Spark Films Director Sasha Snow was a breath of fresh air for us, a Director with a clear and well expressed vision for the end product yet, open and willing to listen, adapt and explore suggestions from our team. He created a trusting, fertile and creative environment around the project where the dedication to audio was equal to picture. The project was fun, and extremely rewarding throughout as we worked collaboratively with Sasha and our composer Jim Cornick to build a unique sonic world that enhanced and supported his stunning cinematography. I would like to thank Sasha for setting up an amazing and sensitive film that covered both my solo swim across the English Channel this summer and the parallel efforts to raise awareness and funds for a groundbreaking 3D Bioprinting Unit for Bristol Paediatric Cardiac Unit. His professionalism in grasping the core challenges of both these enterprises and then expressing both the spirit and the practicalities was amazing. Stunning film footage and a background narrative interspersed with reflections told a narrative that was absorbing and thought provoking.
