** April 2022 update- after acknowledging that they misspelled the recipient's name in the email they claimed they had sent with voucher expiry conditions, they conceded they may have misspelled her email address which is why she never received this info. So in an effort to get me off their case they offered a compromise of a £25 admin fee to re-validate the vouchers which I was delighted to agree to. Upgraded my star rating from 1 to 3 as a consequence as I think this could have been handled better from the start but appreciate the gesture very much and glad my family can enjoy the vouchers intended. Spabreaks.com Vouchers. In December 2020, I bought spa vouchers from spabreaks.com, I paid £300.00 using my Mastercard credit card for two vouchers for family. They booked experiences and had to cancel them with lockdown. Spabreaks.com are refusing to allow them to rebook even though they were contacted before the vouchers expired, to explain about the lockdown cancellation. It was specifically for use at Gleneagles Hotel and the hotel are still honouring vouchers but spabreaks.com are saying the credit expired on 31st October 2021- this wasn't clear to the recipients. The communication I've had with the retailer/provider is: I've emailed the retailer twice to ask if we can meet some kind of resolution, but they are refusing even to honour part of the value I paid. The majority of other retailers are working with customers to ensure good customer relations. 'Hard luck, your money has gone' is in essence what this company are saying to me and it seems as if their business model is based upon a proportion of sold vouchers not being redeemed so they can gain money for nothing. Customers beware- buy direct from the spa you want to visit because they will have an entirely different attitude towards customer service and relations.

I’m actually still in shock at my experience with Spa Breaks. Strap in folks, it just keeps getting worse. I purchased an overnight spa break with treatments. I received the confirmation email, noticing the treatments were booked for a different day. I called the spa to enquire, their receptionist told me that they automatically scheduled us in for the next day, because the spa was fully booked on the day I booked. We were not available the next day as we were celebrating a graduation, so they told me that I had to contact Spa breaks to cancel the booking. When I contacted spabreaks, they told me that it was actually the spa that was responsible for cancelling bookings. So I called the spa back. I then spent 2 DAYS being bounced back and forth between spa breaks and the spa because each party kept telling me conflicting information. Then, Spa breaks customer service agent told me that the hotel had agreed to cancel the stay, and she was waiting for the spa to respond RE the treatments. I also called the hotel and they confirmed they were happy to cancel the overnight stay. Then, I spoke to the spa manager who told me she was refusing to cancel anything because I was now within their cancellation policy and I was charged the full £236 for not showing up! I sent an email to their customer relations. They responded TWO WEEKS later, claiming it was in their T&Cs that treatments can be scheduled the next day for overnight stays. Now, I knew for a fact that it wasn’t. I read every line and took screenshots of their entire T&Cs and booking process available on their website. They spent those 2 weeks editing their website and conditions before they replied to me! Very diabolical. I replied with the screenshots I had retained with date and time stamps, highlighting where they changed their T&Cs, along with all of my phone records showing how many times I called both Spa breaks and the spa trying to get a refund. Still to be rejected. They did not, at any point, offer me an alternative solution. Had they offered credit, to reschedule to a different spa, or a different date, I would have probably agreed. They offered no apologies, they did not even take responsibility. I’m shocked at the atrocious customer service, I’m shocked that they actually changed their T&Cs just to avoid giving me a refund, I’m shocked at their dishonesty. I’m shocked at their greed and lack of care for a customer. I will be escalating this matter as far as I can. I will not let you just take £236 from me without defending myself. My advice to everyone is to stay FAR away. Book with your venues directly. Save yourself.

DO NOT use this company! I’ve had terrible trouble trying to book something nice and I’ve never been allowed a refund - only credit notes that you have to use the exact amount or lose. The choice of venues aren’t all that nice either. I highly recommend NOT USING! Nightmare. Customer service appalling too.

Ruined my mums 70th birthday present. They messed up the booking when I initially booked a spa day then three days before we were due to go I was made aware by the hotel (not spabreaks) that our package wasn’t eligible for weekends …. This had been booked for three months and my sister had flown from Singapore for this. Spabreaks were not apologetic, they didn’t care about the mix up. I have since sent a formal complaint and had no reply still. Would not recommend, terrible customer service !!
