I've always had good food and lovely coffee here but I've never quite understood why it takes so long to get a coffee, and what the coffee is never very hot. This morning was another 15 minute wait for a flat white that arrived 'warm'. My eggs benadict were a disappointment mainly due to being served on a very cold plate, and undercooked eggs. The 'buns' it was served on were not as expected and fell apart on the fork. It was generally a very underwhelming experience. Service was with a smile, although slow.

I'm not one for reviewing generally but had to comment on what a lovely time we had at Southsea Coffee today. On arrival the café was busy (always a good sign!) but we chose to wait at an outside table - and I'm so glad we did! The coffee was perfect, my granola and berries delicious and my teenage stepdaughter loved her posh bacon sarnie on sourdough! Within minutes of us getting a table my (energetic) son managed to spill his soda all over the floor🙈 but the staff were so kind and didn't make any fuss, sorting the spillage with a smile. We got cinnamon buns and plum & rhubarb cake to take out and all were delicious and polished off at lunchtime! I'm planning a return visit to the delightful city of Portsmouth and a return visit to this lovely coffee shop will certainly feature. Thank you for a lovely brunch experience, no wonder you're so popular!

Can’t believe I haven’t left a review yet! I come here so often, absolutely love this place! The atmosphere, the people, the food, the coffee, all perfect. Been here for lunches, breakfast and one of the supper club nights and highly recommend going to all. The food at the supper club was some of the best food I’ve ever had, absolutely phenomenal. In fact all the food I’ve had here has been amazing, definitely recommend the avocado toast and the lentil daal! Vegetarian options: Loads of both vegetarian and vegan options! As a vegan I’ve loved everything vegan I’ve had here- especially the waffles they do at the weekends!
