The best run yard with nicest liveries I have ever been at. Both my horses have been on grass livery there for over 2 years and I am continually impressed at how thoroughly they are checked and cared for when I'm not around. They are in lovely herds and my horses have never been happier.

A lovely quiet livery yard set in the most beautiful of spaces on the South Downs. Knowledgeable & compassionate owner lives on-site, checks all horses in mornings (I am on DIY/Grass arrangement), is thorough and keeps owners in the loop on any news. Wonderful local hacking and fab school. Friendly bunch of liveries, no yard politics or cliques and you'll find people to go out riding with easily - have established a weekend "riding club" to get out hacking as a small group. My horse is on Grass livery, semi-retired and has never looked better! Large fields, with ample space for the herd to roam - These are rotated, harrowed and fertilised etc regularly so never get poached . Horses are happy in their herd and a very chilled bunch! I always feel safe when getting my horse from the field - they are so chilled they often don't even bother lift their heads from grazing unless you approach them to say hello! Julie is a great yard owner, has always gone above and beyond expectations - tended to my horse's abscess when I was on holiday, calling me when there had been concern for my horse colicking and checking if I may need any help with an eye infection my horse was suffering from -cant ask for more! 100% recommend this yard!

We have had horses here for three years. Having owned horses for many years and been at several livery yards, I know there are very very few places as good as this. The yard is exceptionally well run, the horses are very happy and very well looked after. My horse is retired and we only see him once a week but I have complete faith that he is looked after on the days we aren’t there. We previously also had another very elderly horse at the yard and Julie went out of her way to make sure he was ok, especially in a very cold winter. She is always happy to offer advice and at the end of the phone if needed. Couldn’t recommend more.

I have been at this yard for almost 2.5 years, and look forward to many more! My boy was a youngster when I first got there, he's on DIY but if I need assistance of any kind, Julie is always very happy and willing to help out. The yard has a great atmosphere, lots of laughs and we all look out for each other. Some great hacking and just a great place to spend time doing a hobby that you love!

Best place to be.The hacking is amazing and the yard owner and liveries are very welcoming and helpful. Julie went beyond what she needed to do to help me when I fell off my horse and was put in crutches and also when he had an abscess. I feel safe leaving my horse in her hands. Highly recommended

Dreadful Dreadful Set up. DO NOT PUT YOUR HORSE HERE. Owner hasn’t a clue what she is doing, and cannot be trusted in anything she says. Her Website does not explain that she accepts ponies for DIY and does not do individual turnout, so don’t go by her Website. With Julie it very much Lie after lie. Extremely selfish owner with no compassion or empathy. Very money orientated. Horses are in bad condition with their hooves especially. 4 much larger horses in the field with my horse have nasty streaks in them and should be separated, they turn their backs on you and your horse and kick out. They swarm all around you whilst your trying to take your house out of the field. It’s an unprofessional set up and not run correctly. Avoid at all costs. My horse has been kicked, bitten and bullied by 4 of the horses in the field with him. The owners had even said their horses can be naughty and apologised to me. Owner of the Livery Julie Sprackling does not listen to the individual owner of their horse and in her words suits how she runs it to work for her which is so selfish. Julie the Owner is more concerned about her image and material world and what others think when the Horses and their owners should be paramount. Caught her out on several lies and was mislead from day one. This woman owner Julie Sprackling is not to be trusted. Too many horses in the one field. Very irresponsible of her not to ease a new horse to the herd carefully. I called my Vet out today as Danny has been kicked & needed six stitches, he is now in Rehab that my Vet sorted out immediately to get my horse away from the lack of care he was not getting. Julie as Duty of Care said she will deal with Danny’s kick in the morning & lies yet again saying she had sprayed his leg and cleaned. When Vet checked it had not been looked after at all. The only good thing about South Downs Livery is where it is situated for hacking. Rent is too high for what little care and attention your horse needs on grass assisted Livery. When I told Julie my horse had been kicked & I explained he may need box rest she would not allow Danny a stable which is breetching the Contract. Very lazy owner who does nothing towards your horses on assisted help. Awful woman & awful Livery Yard tactic’s. Don’t be fooled by this woman with her fake personality, she is Vile beneath.

I had my boy with Julie at Southdowns on grass livery for about 6 months whilst he was a baby, I couldn’t recommend the place enough! Julie is caring, knowledgeable and runs a beautifully kept well organised yard. I absolutely loved it, we only left as it was to far for me to travel when bringing my boy into work. I could only get down 1/2 times a week over the winter but I had full trust that my boy was looked after and given the best care. I would move back in a heart beat if we ever lived local to the area 💜
