Very poor customer service the ticket machine was out of order and I as approached the information desk I found the member of staff sleeping in his chair the card reader was out of order the station is very quite the great Anglia train runs through and not impressed with their service either but the ticket officer was polit .

The station has hardly changed. Nice seats and waiting shelter, but the box style info display dates from the 80s, unlike todays LCD screens in train stations such as a photo seen here of those at Wickford showing the Greater Anglia service to Southminster. Automated announcements are very good. There is no clock anymore except displayed on the info display. Interesting the signage features a mixture of the Greater Anglia branding, but also a classic look using the BR LOGO next to the name without any Greater Anglia Branding which is a more simple look to save the cost of rebranding the whole station when a NEW company takes over. At one time the station in Network Southeast days was called Woodham Ferrers.
