    I can’t pay my bill, I have been trying to contact them to pay the outstanding for weeks but find to be on the call for hours being passed around now I have had two letter stating debt agency will be involved at this point it might be easier for them to do so at least the debt agency will have some means of contact to give payment it’s an absolute joke

    Horrendous ! App doesn’t work and my data is gone ! Tried registering on website and that doesn’t work - called customer service … 1 hour queue ! Disgusting service … you should be ashamed SSW ! Plus I’m a victim of the data breach - I wish we could change supplier but sadly stuck with this bunch of jokers

    Updated- not only I had to call to set up payments , now they have sent me letter saying my account will be passed on to debt collectors!!!! South Staffs water, you are going to pay and rectify any detriment that you have caused me, I will be getting the recordings of all the calls I have had with you. You absolute waste of a company. Disgusting. Called this morning, lady was not listening and kept speaking over me; I asked nicely if she could let me Speak and then she hung up on me. Called Back and now the wait times are an hour. Why would you employ someone that hangs up on people? Vile. This lady was abrupt and rude , as if she has never worked in customer services anymore.

    Have tried twice today to contact South Staffs Water. The phone message says wait time up to an hour. First call had to give up after 23 minutes, currently on 15 minutes. Tried to log on to my account, their system would not recognise my saved password neither would it complete a reset. Message said error. So how do i contact them. Old style snail mail? An hours wait is simply unacceptable. There can be no excuse for such waiting times.

    Lose your details in a data breach and take months to inform you. Tell you your login details are wrong, but can't reset them and you need to ring up. Sit on hold for 40minutes, try again, it lets you reset but wont log you in. Finally lets you log in on the old details (which it didn't in the first place) this company is in an absolute mess.

    I had a water meter installed for my Mother on the basis that she will only be charged for water she has consumed and would be billed twice a year by Direct Debit like she has payed for the past twenty years. She gets quite confused handling her affairs so I help her. I was quite shocked to find on her account that she was being charged £20 a month? It took several calls to shake this 'Payment Plan' off. The property is currently unoccupied! Everything was quiet until a month ago she received yet another bill for £35 this time. When I called up I was assured that this was money owed and I stupidly paid it over the phone. I told the call handler that I felt very uneasy about this and why was money was not taken from her account via Direct Debit? I was assured that she would remove this Pay Plan and she would be billed twice a year for the water she consumes ( I'm on a meter and have never had to pay anything but what I use.) My mother has checked her mail to find yet ANOTHER BILL one month later for £35 and it's due tomorrow?!! This is an absolute disgrace and it's the needs investigating. My Mother is a pensioner and is suffering mentally. She does not need to be scammed and should not be treated like an easy target by this company. Thanks to this I will be on the phone again tomorrow and I don't hold out any hope that this will be resolved or that she is going to receive her money back. I hope the complaints process is easier than this as I am not going to give up and the next call I make will be recorded for my purposes. ……. Ps I’m adding to this review one week later…. I was assured that the bill was a mistake and to ignore it. Her next bill will be sent out in July…. guess what? £35 HAS BEEN TAKEN FROM HER ACCOUNT.

    Original post June 2020: The amount of times that South staffs water have contacted me to say i owe money on a place I moved out of 3 years ago is ridiculous! I must have had a dozen conversations on the phone over that time frame telling them. Utter incompetence. South staffs water would have been out of business years ago if customers had a choice of who supplies their water. 1 star is to generous Update 05/04/2023. Had an email yesterday asking for more money from the same property… 7 years after we’d moved out 🤦🏼‍♂️ Politely told them it’s been longer than 6 years, so even if I did owe them there’s nothing they can do about it now 👍🏻
