  We have a great loft conversion by South London Lofts. Minda was the project manager and he was very professional and responsive all the way the build process. Different teams came to do their various part of the project, electricians, plumbers, plasterer, roofing etc, 2nd fix carpentry, very impressed with the service and the speed of delivery, we've ended with a great L shape dormer conversion, really well finished.....   Great experience with SLL I highly recommend South London Lofts and their project manager Paul, they were busy in 2022 when we had loft converted, but even, so they built our loft conversion quickly and it's looking great now it's completed, we're very happy At the star, the 1st fix team worked hard and fast to get the shell of the conversion in place in the 1st 2-3 weeks, then we had the electrics and plumbing works, we met these guys to discuss the options and positions, then we moved on to window fitting, plastering and roofing works, it all came together nicely, we could tell these guys have a lot of experience and all the builders know what they are doing...   AVOID AT ALL COSTS! SLL did a loft conversion for my nextdoor neighbour by bracing scaffolding against my house without my permission or consent. This caused damage to my brickwork and gutters. I repeatedly phoned and wrote emails asking SLL to remove scaffolding off my house, as they had trespassed several times and I could see no protection was afforded to my house as they did not use any safety equipment such as end caps, netting, brick guards etc. The company manager is clearly uneducated, rude, lacking customer service skills and needs to go back to school judging by his responses to my emails. SLL did not remove the scaffolding until all exterior works were finished. I am now taking them to small claims court.

  Terrible building conditions. They should have their permits revoked. They cheap out on a skip, and instead, gather the hazardous building waste on top of their client’s roof!!!! This is crazy!!!!

  My wife and I usually avoid doing reviews, especially negative ones. However, we feel compelled to share our experience with South London Lofts (SLL). We instructed SLL to build a kitchen extension for us in July '21. Once the actual work began, we soon became concerned about the quality of the work, the level of poor communication + coordination amongst the different teams engaged in the work, and how they rushed each stage of the work. The issues started to appear: Firstly, the designs failed to specify the party wall's height, the team doing the bricklaying built the party wall in one day and too high (higher than height submitted to planning), steel design was changed without our consent, received wrong advice regarding the size of the Velux window and had to pay to correct the issue, and so on it went. We managed to get through most of these issues and raised them at various points to the owner of SLL. We either received no response or were treated with contempt by him. When we thought the work was almost complete, it was at this point we began uncovering more significant issues such as cuts to the ceiling joists, damp issues, bi-fold doors leaning outward, and problems with the gas-pipe work (Gas-Safe Inspector raised defects with the installation, and also there are questions around whether the person that did the work was certified). We then commissioned multiple reports into the build and the cost to bring the work up to a reasonable standard runs into tens of thousands that we now have to find. Plus building control wont sign-off the extension. We have not spoken to the business owner since mid-December '21, and he has ignored all our calls and text messages. We have not had a functioning kitchen with running water since September '21. We have two young children forced to live in absolute chaos. I know the business owner will rubbish this review. However, I wish that we could go back to the beginning and look into this company in more detail, as it would have saved us a huge amount of stress and sleepless nights… 19/02 - We've had several firms look at the kitchen extension done at our property by SLL, and they have all confirmed that they will have to strip everything back (inc. the Roof) and redo the work. After nearly a year, we are practically back to where we started. Thanks, SLL..
