Absolutely horrible experience. At first me and my friends a decided to go into the first gallery only to find out that the upstairs was closed and the remaining gallery’s were, a smoke room and a coin shooting machine. This was all where it started. The staff decided to show us how the machine was active but “ decided not to tell me it would shoot out” This proceeded to shoot me in the eye and make me go into A+E for the next 10 hours. It turned out I got a lovely swollen and blind eye permanently. Never going back again. Didn’t even get to see the second one. One star.

One room was a 30 minute film full of pretentious rubbish. Then I crossed the road to the other gallery. The upstairs was closed, so only two rooms were available. One room was a stand with some smoke, the other was a coin shooter. What a waste of space. Planned this as my day trip but went to the Tate instead. Don’t waste your time on this garbage. Awful.

Great place to decompress after a stressful day at work. Finish work at 5pm still have 20 to 30 mins to appreciate some art.

New Contemporaries 2023 was super neat like a bienalle . Also the gallery has easy access to toilets & gift shop. Warm in the winter. A Must visit. Both sites (Fire station across st).

Free gallery so worth popping in if you are in the area. You'll find the main gallery on the ground floor so have a look around. Then stop off at the cafe for a bite to eat. The gardens are open at the weekend. The gift shop is worth exploring. Make sure you go to the fire station to see more free art exhibits after - its a short walk on the opposite side of the road.
