Fails on basics. No soundproofing at all in rooms so you spend all night hearing people around you talk, walk, turn lights on and off, run taps. The doors are all heavy and bang shut. Every little noise echoes through the building, it’s like the builders tried to make it as noisy as possible. Got a poor nights sleep, not at all relaxing. Check out is too early at 10am. Most places have realised customers want a relaxing morning on holiday. Check in is late at 4pm. It is a lovely place in a beautiful setting, but it’s no good if you want to sleep or relax.

Where do you begin? The place is fairly isolated and big. We did have a bit of a problem to find the main entrance so perhaps some better signage would help. With that little out of the way everything else went swimmingly. On our arrival keys and all information was already waiting for us in our welcome pack right inside the front door. We were a little worried about the lack of food on site after 4pm but we shouldn't have. After some nice pukka tea and (several) home made digestives and flapjacks everything was well again. Rooms were fairly simple affair but provided all we needed and we had a good night sleep. In the morning we've met lovely Scottish lady Sarah (also responsible for the biscuits and delicious flapjacks) who made our breakfast and was generally a very good to chat with. There was a good selection of things for a continental breakfast with freshly baked pastries. Overall, I'd recommend staying there if you are not after luxury but need a good night sleep and some peace and quiet.

Awesome campsite and yurts. Good shower and kitchen block. An electrical outlet to charge phones etc would be an improvement. Overall, great.... Go, go now!
