This is the first time I have taken a dog to training classes and I must admit I was very nervous and apprehensive as Basil my large strong puppy is a handful and does not do anything I ask him to do. I suffer with Complex PTSD and I now have a terrible memory and find it difficult to take things in by watching dog training on YouTube and remembering what to do. On arrival I found that there were only six other dogs coupled with a lovely introduction which made me feel comfortable and relaxed with what was ahead. Each command was fully explained and carried out by Louise our instructor which we then had to repeat. I was amazed at how well Basil did, it was as if I had taken another dog. I found this way immensely helpful in making me remember how to carry out a task. I think Basil was also grateful that I seemed to know what I was doing now. Having gone through 5 different commands which I fully understood, I felt more confident in teaching Basil at home. I feel more relaxed and comfortable teaching Basil now which reflects in the way that Basil behaved at the training class and afterwards at home. We are now looking forwards to the next class and I truly believe that this is money well spent as I have found that results are truly impressive. We also received lots of other interesting information pertaining to our dogs. I would fully recommend South Coast Dog Training School, Chichester to everyone, especially having a large strong dog like Basil and seeing the instant improvement which over time will make our lives so much more enjoyable. This was an excellent follow-on to the puppy school course. It consolidated what we’d learnt and added new activities that my puppy loved. The trainers were excellent and encouraged a very supportive group. We enjoyed it so much that we (along with two others) will carry on to the Silver/Gold sessions.

Fantastic puppy/dog class. Even just in our first lesson I’ve learnt some great tools to use with our lively young cocker Spainiel. Was very nervous but Louise made us feel at ease and gave us personal tips for our breed. Lovely environment.

We are on to our second training course with South Coast Training and have also had several one to ones. Louise is very knowledgeable and experienced with over 18 years experience and communicated to us clearly all the basic commands - sit, stand, stay leave, lead walking, recall etc. She makes learning fun and sends us revision notes at the end of each lesson. She also makes a point of understanding the needs and characteristics of individual dogs (and their owners!) and gives tailored advice. Margot is quite timid and she has really helped to make her more confident. We have got a lot out of her classes and would highly recommend them.
