Our parents moved to Somerleigh at the end of 2019. They had only been in their fabulous apartment for 6 weeks when Mum suffered a Stroke. My Father pressed the buzzer and one of the wonderful members of staff was at their door in under a minute. She knew exactly what to do and how to manage the very difficult situation. A paramedic arrived swiftly but we then had to wait a long time for an ambulance to get her to DCH. During this time, while the paramedic attended to Mum, this wonderful member of staff, who was coming to the end of her shift, chose to stay with us. Her quiet presence was everything and is indicative of the whole ethos of Somerleigh. They truly, truly care and while Mum has been in hospital for six weeks, they have ALL continued to keep an eye on Dad. Daily checks to see how he is getting on, always asking how Mum is and sending their best wishes to her, a friendly wave up to the window when dad is sitting in his chair and much more. My parents have complete independence here at Somerleigh, they own their apartment and come and go as they please and yet there is this beautiful background safety net if it is ever needed. It gives such peace of mind to us all and has been the perfect move. So I was stunned when I came on here to leave a review to find a poor review on here! Please don’t be swayed by one person who clearly hasn’t any idea about Somerleigh. Come and see Somerleigh for yourself, meet the fabulous people here and you will see why there are many more 5 star reviews.

My parents recently moved to a spacious and comfortable apartment at Somerleigh and we couldn't have hoped for a better place for them. To have their own front door and be able to live independently with care and support as and when they need it is ideal and reassuring for us all. The location is perfect with everything on their doorstep and no need for a car. Everyone has been so helpful and welcoming to them already and getting a difficult chain to completion wouldn’t have happened without the help of the Somerleigh Sales Manager.

My mother lived in a lovely apartment at Somerleigh Court for nine years. The location couldn't be better - just a very short walk across the road to the lovely main town centre and next to the beautiful Borough Gardens. There is a selection of activities available for all residents to join in with and the staff are always open to new ideas. More recently, when Mum needed a little more help with day to day tasks, the close care team were more like friends and they became an integral part of Mum's life. I would highly recommend a visit to Somerleigh Court - I think that you'll be pleasantly surprised.

My dad lived in a wonderful apartment here for 5 years, with excellent care from all the staff. He then moved to the adjoining care home and received great care for the whole team. I cannot recommend Somerleigh Court and the team more highly. Its location to the town centre, the staff and the park alongside was just what dad loved about the place.

My Uncle moved from near Bournemouth a few years ago to a flat at Somerleigh Court. He absolutely loved the flat which ended up being even more of a perfect buy than we could have ever hoped for. The staff who keep an eye on everyone were wonderful. Sadly his dementia took a hold and we quickly had to get him into the home, which they helped enormously with. The move was hard on all of us, but he is still looking out on the same beautiful gardens, sees the same lovely staff, eats the same delicious food and is generally as at home as he could be anywhere. I am one of three neices who live locally and we visit regularly as we enjoy going into see him there and everyone is very friendly to us and supportive of what at times is a difficult situation and new to all of us. We feel very lucky to be part of this place.

Extremely out dated, understaffed and probably underpaid staff. Looks nice on the outside but I wouldn't put my dog there let alone a person. Sorry to be harsh but honest.
