Not sure where to start with this review! Such a mixed bag. I'll start with the positives. Great shop, nice easy location and the woman that works there (the owners sister I beleive), is absolutely fantastic, very friendly, knows her stuff, we spent quite a bit of time choosing flooring and she really was really good. We bought vinyl flooring and carpet for all downstairs, stairs and landing. So alot of flooring and expensive. The carpet guys were amazing, very friendly, got the job done, very tidy, we paid them an extra 50 quid and they took the carpets away. Vinyl guy not so great, but was laid ok, we thought. Having already taken 2 days off work unpaid, paid the shop, paid the fitters that should have been the end of it. The vinyl wasn't fitted right, the shop and fitter clearly can't communicate and we were let down at the last minute after taking the day off work and had to book yet another day off to get it sorted. The manager, I think his name is Mark just didn't care. He really upset both me and my husband. He literally couldn't care less. It was their mistake twice, 1st with flooring then with time and days. His attitude was so appalling. He might have a business and earn loads of money and have lots of customers so yh, I'm sure he genuinely doesn't care as long as the money goes in his pocket. But he never offered to give us any money back for fitting for their mistakes, leaving us out of pocket and very angry. He didn't even apologise. I would never use them again because of him.

I have used Solo since moving into Great Barr 15 years ago. The service they offer is amazing, they will always cater for your budget and give great advice. The fitters are fast and careful in their work and tidy up afterwards, I have and will continue recommending this shop at every chance I can, 5 Stars
