With regards to the impact of occupational health physicians on the exclusion of disabled people from the workplace, statistics speak for themselves: The unemployment rate for disabled people in the UK is 50%. Occupational health physicians appear to have a particularly low tolerance for autistic people, people with learning difficulties, people experiencing mental distress and people with epilepsy being in the workplace. The employment rates for these groups of people range from just 34% to a mere 21.7%. Eugenics is still with us- who wants to end up with a disabled employee? Insisting successful candidates are unfit for the role that they would be perfectly capable of doing, is humiliating.
