Always a good place to stop for a quick lunch or early evening meal when in Ripon. Plenty to choose from on the menu and extremely friendly staff. I have been many times over the years and never been disappointed!!!

The worst food I have eaten in a long time! We got a delivery via Uber eats, the ribs were soaked through with grease, the batter had no seasoning at all. They didn't even look like ribs. The meat tasted old!! The onion rings were also dripping with grease. The potatoes used for the chips has not been cleaned this was in the taste. The burger meat was also spoiled. Not only that this whole experience was dearly priced. THIS PLACE NEEDS AN INSPECTION BY THE FOOD STANDARDS AGENCY ASAP.

Haven't been in this pub since the early eighties when it was called the Black Bull in Ripon. Sat in the same window from all those years ago. Whale and chips for lunch excellent.

Fantastic place and food but even better staff. From the minute the 5 of us walked in, a table was organised and the kids were given colouring books. My nan couldn't decide on what to eat so she was given more time. The food was delivered quickly and when asking for drinks mid meal, we were given them just as quick. My 10yr old daughter asked for the toilet and the lovely lady walked her there to make sure she found them. Everyone that walked in was treated the same. Will gladly come again and have recommended you to friends that tend to visit Ripon. Thank you.

Stopped for a hot drink. Latte nice, but my friends tea came with oat milk (vegan choice) that was obviously off and had lumps in it. She just had her tea black instead. Furniture was a bit grubby (arms of chairs greasy). Wouldn’t go back I don’t believe. Was dog friendly so that’s a plus.
