This is an absolute must see if you love wildlife. Great place to see red squirrels up close. As others have said it’s essential to book parking before heading here. There’s also a little donation box by the viewpoint entrance if you’ve got any spare change. The walk from the car park to the view point is around 2km so not too far and it’s clearly signposted which is helpful, we even saw a fair few squirrels on the walk to and from the viewpoint.

Awesome opportunity to get up close with red squirrels! Where the dropped pin is, go up the track sign posted for the farm, then left over the cattle grid to the allocated parking down a steep hill (not for the faint hearted coming back up!). There's only space for 3 or 4 cars, so parking should be prearranged (at the Yorkshire dales museum I believe?), Then drop a fiver into the box on the door of the farmhouse when you've parked up. The trail starts behind the houses and takes about 30 minutes to walk down to the viewing area. It's a lovely walk, but access isn't suitable for disabled or prams. Once you're in the viewing area, there are quite a few squirrels to be seen if you keep quiet and still for a while

Lovely morning out. Only saw a few squirrels and some very friendly birds. Make sure you pre-book parking and don't turn up in a low-slung car as the driveway has potential to be tricky.
