Don't use it through JustPark app. We planed to park there and decided to be sure we will have the space and booked a slot in advance via JustPark on a weekday evening 9-11pm. Entrering the car park was fine, however, the bar didn't lift on the way out and screen showed that we need to pay more at playstation but it was still 10.30pm. There were several cars in the same situation. There was no-one at customer office, nobody picked up the phone on the emergency number provided. Just Park helpline did not solve the situation - just automated message and providing me with a PIN that is nothing to do with the matter. You don't want to be in this situation in the middle of Smithfield market car park near 11pm! In the end we paid the amount we didn't need to pay and we were finally let out. It shouldn't be like this. In fact, there were plenty of spaces when we wanted to use (weekday, evening) so I would recommend to just go there and pay at the pay station.

SCAM WARNING Beware of this scam artist of a location. I drove by on SUNDAY looking for free parking and they advertise in big writing outside FREE PARKING and in smaller writing from 9-10 across a date range. It’s my fault not to read the small print properly as it said 9pm-10am is free parking but when my ticket didn’t work the “friendly” customer service guy ran to the machine to insert his emergency ticket they charged £21 for 60mins! I said it can’t be right but he continued to pressure me to pay warning that in 3mins it will be £42! In the end I ignored his pressure tactics and inserted my own ticket - the correct charge was £4.20 per hour) but by that point he had scurried back into his office after not succeeding in convincing me to pay £21-42 for parking an hour there on a Sunday.

Very good value when I went - booked on JustPark. Cleaner than most NCP car parks or Hilton Park Lane car park. Easy to find and central location - great for Barbican. Recognised my number plate on entry and gave me a ticket for pre-booked then it recognised me at barrier leaving (after putting in ticket). Pedestrian access to street level is a little confusing. Very quiet at night in case you are concerned for safety reasons.
