  I contacted Smarter Homes because I had damp spots in my wall and the outside pebble dash was cracked and falling off. They gave me a free competitive quote and they stripped off all the pebble dash, put a layer of insulation on the wall and then plastered a new coloured fender finish. Very neat and tidy, looks lovely and no damp. They did not want a deposit and the price stayed fixed. Definitely recommend these people.

  We contacted Smarter Homes last year through their website for a free survey and quote as our render had been removed badly and the bricks underneath had been badly damaged. We were hoping to have it re-rendered but Mike from Smarter Homes offered us the chance to have a brick replica finish instead of the colour render we had been quoted for by others. Not only was that an unexpected option but they could also insulate the walls as they had no cavity so the bungalow was always hard to keep warm in winter. We liked the idea of no deposits and a 10 year warranty from the manufacturer so decided to go ahead. We now have a perfect brick looking home that is super warm. The workmen and the materials they used were both top class and left the place clean and tidy. Best experience we have had from any building work we have had over the years

  Smarter Homes did two rental properties of mine over a year ago and they still look great. I found their installers to be very professional and courteous to my tenants. Definitely will use them again in future.

  I emailed to ask for a quote for insulating behind my dropped tiles, not realising that the Company is in a different part of the country from me. They got back to me the same day to explain that I live too far away, but they didn’t just leave it at that, they also gave me a really good reason why what I was hoping to do wouldn’t be practical, which I hadn’t thought of. Also, they suggested some alternatives that would work. This means they’ve saved me wasting time trying to find someone else to do the original work I’d asked about, but also given me ideas to try instead. I think this is top-class service. I’m disappointed they aren’t in my area, because I’d definitely recommend them to people round here. Siobhan, from Southampton

  Similar experience to other reviews. Applied for Green Homes Grant and got messed by this company for seven months to be eventually told can't fit you in. I liked Mike and he provided the cheapest quote but they say you get what you pay for or in the case didn't get so didn't pay. Clearly cant organise or they would have been able to tell me months in advance they had no realistic prospect of completing the work. Addressing the owners response, you never informed me that you were prioritising those on benefits and with health conditions, if these were your priorities I would never have made the final cut of jobs that you said I did. Overall your communication was non-existent.

  Failed to complete works under the Green Homes scheme in collaboration with SFP Contracts in Leicester. Wasted a total of 11 months waiting for them and was provided with every excuse and lie under the sun. From the installers being pinched by Eon and other providers, to the weather and 'we're working on it'. In the end I found out that they had given priority to people from an old government scheme (who they had done the same thing to a long while ago) and took on extras just in case they had some space. The scheme should have been on a first come first basis and they have upset a lot of people. They also went as far as blaming the applicants for not reading the application properly with regards to 'planning permission'. What's funny though is that they completed the applications on behalf of the applicants when they were not supposed to. They should be held accountable for the lies, false promises and signing people up without any intention of carrying out the works.

  Will never use this company again and would not recommend them. Messed me around for over a year and in the end said sorry we won't be carrying out your work, look for someone else. I was one of the first applicant of the grant with them, as I applied last year September 2020. So, you they ample time to give me notice if this was going ahead or not. I was booked in March to do the work then they said I will need planning permission to carry out this work, even though almost all other installers have been doing it without planning permission. But I didn't say anything, and got my planning application submitted and approved which cost me £900. After that I was told I'll be one of the last customers to have the installation done at the end of September beginning of October, and now out the blue saying sorry we can't do it. This is totally unacceptable as I waited patiently for a year. They just messed me around, and now I can't get the work done with another supplier. No issues with Mike Dinmore who always stayed in contact with me and kept me in the loop, but the company are absolutely poor.

  Well wot can you say about this company I went with this so called company to get my exterior installation for my house put in my voucher application 1year ago no one came to see me in all that time to see my house I was I just had to keep getting my voucher extended so after 3 extensions still no work done so I kept ringing and ringing no one answered so i text this so called company over and over again with no answer from mike for 1 year so i text 17/8/2021 and ask mike if I was going to get my house done before November when the work as to be done because the government is going to stop it in November and this morning I got a text from mike to say no it will not be done at all well thanks a lot for wasting my time for the last 12 months now the scheme finishes in November with no time for me to get a new company I would not recommend this so called business

  From start to finish everything was spot on even with the bad weather the guys worked through it the finish well what can I say it is professional made the house look like a new build when ever I rang with any questions they sorted it out straight away Mike dinmore was brilliant more like a friend than a worker he was a top professional at his job cannot fault him Paul from m&w rendering could not do enough for us would highly recommend smarter homes and m &w rendering to work for us again thank guys job really well done.
