  I had an issue with a hot tub losing power. Got messed about by 3 local hot tub "specialists" but SHTS who is 90 miles away came fixed the tub and then gave it a service for a fixed price we both were happy with. Gave me advice on what to check and look at before I booked him in case it was a simple fix but it wasn't. Nice family team and willing to help. I would give 10 stars if I could.

  I spent a good amount of time researching heat pumps and considering the benefits to be had. While I am all for saving polar bears my main concern was the rapidly rising energy prices as of late. While I was on a fixed tariff for an extended period, I knew when this came to an end, my hot tub would end up costing at least double to run under the existing heater. After some research, I came across Chris and Smalley Hot Tubs. While I could have just ordered directly from the website, I spoke in depth with Chris who quickly understood the current situation and clearly explained the benefits of various different heat pumps. After spending some time looking at the numbers I decided to go with the Sunbeach Spas 9kw heat pump. Being a bit of a numbers geek, I knew this heat pump will continue to work well in some of the coldest temperatures we typically get in the UK - A common problem for many others in groups I am part of is that many heat pumps fail at really low temperatures. In addition to this, the heat pump had a low decibel (noise) rating, which was ideal given that my hot tub is located quite close to my neighbour's property. After purchase, Chris, with the help of many photos, helped me pick the ideal location for the heat pump and gave me a few mounting ideas to reduce noise and ensure maximum efficiency. When it came to install day, Chris was nothing but polite, friendly and a great communicator. Once the sides were removed from the hot tub as it was, he clearly explained how the existing system worked and how he was going to change it to make use of the heat pump. Within a few hours, and a couple of cups of coffee, we were ready to switch the heat pump on for the first time. While we initially had a small issue with the WiFi module for the heat pump, he quickly resolved this and we got connected to my network with minimum fuss. Chris then explained how the mobile App works over WiFi and how to get the best out of the heat pump with various settings. Once everything was up and running, Chris did a great job cleaning up - you wouldn't know he had been, other than the new shinny heat pump install of course, and was quick to offer any further help and support if needed. 2 days later, I couldn't be happier with the install. Already I have noticed a significant reduction in energy usage (I will try to add this later once I have a longer range to compare with), and have a heater that brings up the hot tub temperature much quicker than my old 2kw heater. I tend to use the hot tub more at the weekends, and keep the hot tub at 36 degrees through the week - turning it up to 39 over the weekend. This used to take maybe 3 hours. In the past 2 days I have found I can heat the hot tub by those 3 degrees in about an hour on full power (1kw or about 34p on the government price cap). Throughout the day, I keep the heat pump on "silent heating" (200w of power) and it maintains the temperature by maybe coming on for 5 minutes every hour (200w meaning about £0.72 per day on the government price cap), basically bringing the cost to run back down to just below what it was in 2019. I can't recommend Smalley Hot Tubs and Chris enough. It was a truly great experience getting my upgrade and I look forward to unashamedly singing their praises to family, friends, a few of the local neighbours who also have hot tubs, and indeed yourself for reading this far!

  We’ve had our inflatable for 3 years now and was recommended to try these guys for servicing before they moved. Was so pleased to find out they would still be in the area and could therefore do our service. Very friendly and helpful advice about a possible upgrade to hard shell.

  We recently moved to the area and our inflatable hot tub didn’t enjoy the move and started leaking air. I went on to Smalley website and completed the contact form. Later that day I got a friendly email outlining rough prices and reassuring me that whatever the problem they could sort it , a couple of days later they arrived , found out what the problem was and they fixed it . The service has been excellent , the customer experience was exceptional , and the communication was always prompt informative and courteous . We will upgrade our tub to a fixed one in the near future and we will certainly buy it from Smalleys. First class service , and I highly recommend , thank you
