FAQ

Do you offer any education or outreach programs for the community?

Yes, Small Dog Rescue offers education and outreach programs for the community. We believe that educating the public about responsible pet ownership and animal welfare is crucial. We offer various programs to schools, community groups, and individuals that cover topics such as pet care, animal behavior, and the importance of spaying and neutering pets.

Can I visit your facilities to see the animals?

Unfortunately, we do not allow visitors to our facilities. This is to ensure the safety and well-being of our animals. However, we do provide detailed information and photographs of our animals on our website, and we encourage potential adopters to ask any questions they may have about a specific animal.

What kind of support do you offer after the sale?

We offer extensive support to our adopters after the sale. We provide advice and guidance on all aspects of pet ownership, including training, nutrition, and healthcare. We also offer a follow-up service to check on the progress of our adopted animals and provide assistance if needed.

How long can individuals stay in your shelters?

We do not have a set time limit for how long animals can stay in our shelters. We believe that every animal deserves a chance to find a loving home, regardless of how long it may take. However, we do regularly assess the animals in our care to ensure that they are happy and healthy and to determine the best course of action for their well-being.

What is the adoption process?

Our adoption process involves an application form, a home check, and a meeting with the animal. We require potential adopters to complete an application form, which helps us determine if the animal is a good match for their home and lifestyle. We then conduct a home check to ensure that the home is safe and appropriate for the animal. Finally, we arrange a meeting between the potential adopter and the animal to ensure that they are a good match. If all goes well, we complete the adoption process and provide ongoing support to the adopter.

After a phone call with Glennis deciding to re-home our miniature schnauzer, she immediately found a great foster home for her. Her foster placement was absolutely lovely and we felt so comfortable in leaving our dog with her and felt that she would be well cared for. Glennis has then very kindly updated us a few weeks later with a photograph of our dog in her new home with her new owner and furry friend! She looks so happy and we are so grateful to have recieved this photograph. We cannot thank small dog rescue enough as it was such a hard decision to re-home due to family medical reasons. Thank you all again

I just think that by saying no to people who live in a flat without a secure garden is unfair. Surely it would be beneficial of the home visit, to determine the outcome. Of course the wellbeing of the animal is paramount that goes without saying. Just give the adopters a chance as I'm sure you would be happy to see the dog settled in a loving home with regular walks and runs. You do a fantastic job in a never ending need for your services. Thank you
