  We used Slinden Services to repair a broken leg from our antique cast iron London patio table and cannot express the surprise and gratitude when we received the repaired leg expertly welded and finished and impeccably packed and returned by parcel post to our London home. Never thought possible as nobody locally thought it could be repaired. Would be happy to send before and after photos. Strongly recommend the company. When they say they can do it, believe me they do it!

  In terms of what this company does to earn money, my project was very small beer indeed, (repair of a broken child's cast iron bench). However, at all stages of my interaction, I was met with courtesy and professionalism. They carried out my repair speedily and very competently....as Eric was fond of saying to Ernie "You can't see the join". I was extremely satisfied and impressed by this company and it's employees.

  Slinden Services recently completed a project to restore a Grade 2 listed Victorian street water pump on behalf of the Beverley Civic Society. This included casting the spout and handle that were missing, using 3D models as patterns so the replacements would exactly match what it would have had originally. The finished result is absolutely superb, and has drawn a significant amount of interest and compliments that it never did prior to the restoration. This has been a tremendous success and the Civic Society can't thank Slinden enough for their professionalism and attention to detail.   After having a milling machine failure under power that cracked three sides of a cast iron table end cap (house brick sized) there was a need to source a reputable repairer. Bearing in mind that when cast iron is heated to high temperatures it can distort and this was a major concern for me. After finding Slinden Services on the net and chatting at length with their specialist I dispatched my 40year old casting (No longer available commercially) with some reluctance. I was expecting a 2-3 week turnaround (faster equals higher costs) but to my surprise and their credit the job was completed within five days of them receiving it. The dispatch time was extremely prompt and it was well packed too. They use very reputable couriers and the return is trackable too. Finally, the results - Simply SUPERB! There was only the most minor of distortion in just one area which was less than 0.5mm and that was corrected within an hour. Machine now fully serviceable and all down to professional manner of Slinden Services!

  We have been looking for a company in the UK, which can weld a damaged machine part of our 60 year old Robling Centre Lathe and which was willing to guarantee their work at the same time. We have had many quotes up and down the Country, but not once have I been satisfied by the welding techniques to be employed, and money allone was not the issue here. We where very professionally treated during the quotation stage, with a written quotation, which encapsulated the whole workshedule. On completion of the work, we where informed by e-mail also. In late October the items has been returned to us, clean with no loose pitting anywhere found, the surface finish had been carefully pre-ground, ready for the toolroom machining afterwards. I was born and bread in engineering, and so I can proudly say: When welding quality matters. GO TO SLINDEN SERVICES LTD.

  David and his team are true craftspeople who have excellent customer service and will go the extra mile to ensure their customers' needs are met. They restored a cast-iron North Eastern Railway Water crane for Stainmore Railway Company and co-ordinated another manufacturer to build new parts from scratch. Would recommend them and definitely use them in the future

  Excellent service; I was restoring a printing press to working order, and had been told horror stories about bodged welding jobs causing problems later down the line. Slinden were able to give me some details about the process before starting the job, as well as an accurate estimate from the photo I sent them, and the part came back solidly repaired with an undercoat already applied. They're not the cheapest service you'll find, but they absolutely know what they're doing; it's more than worth their reasonable charges. I'll be using them again for similar repairs. Highly recommended.
