Unfortunately I would not recommend this place. I would say it is marketed as a high end venue- but it does not feel like it. More like a school dinner hall. That is by the way of such high ceilings and awful acoustics. The service was average. My partner and I arrived separately. I was greeted after a short wait, coat etc was taken to the cloakroom for me, I was then given a rather dirty spot at the bar immediately next to the waiters’ tills. My partner was greeted at the door, no offer of cloakroom (with considerably more luggage than myself). From there onwards, at the dinner table, service was slow however our waiter was lovely. Food was the best part of this venue, though not exceptional. For the price, I would say it’s a little steep.

We went for a pre theatre dinner. The food was quick to serve, it was good but not exceptional. The view is beautiful, the room spacious and not too noisy even when the restaurant is full. I give 5* for the service because our waiter was fantastic. He was helpful, very funny, took the time to chat with us and was very caring. I recommend for the views and atmosphere, not if you are after a 5* meal. It was average for the price paid.

My husband and I wanted to celebrate our wedding anniversary somewhere special so after checking the nicest restaurants in the area (very close to the London Eye) we chose Skylon. The place is okay, we got a table by the window. We asked for oysters as a starter but -only 20 mins later- were told they were not available so we just said okay let’s just go for the mains. Despite ordering to a first waiter, a few mins later a second waiter came to take the order. We ordered a beef fillet with fries and a ribeye steak with mashed potatoes (the first waiter said we can swap fries with mashed potatoes, the second waiter said we can’t; after all they could but just put it as a side of the wrong steak). We asked to get the fillet cooked rare but it wasn’t rare at all (well cooked). Anyway the food was okay but not outstanding. Then we ordered desserts and those were pretty good. Overall, though, I don’t think it’s a restaurant worth spending £134 (two people, main and dessert and one glass of white wine).

This was our first visit - a lovely place to meet a couple of old friends for a pre-theatre meal. Lovely evening sunlight and lots of space with a wonderful view. We swapped seats with our guests halfway through because the sun was in their eyes - sun hats or shades would help. The staff were extremely attentive and helpful and the food was lovely, including the vegetarian options. Yes, it was expensive but it was a special evening and the best option that evening. I struggle to think of a nicer restaurant in the area at present as our longstanding favourite (despite no view) and quiet House Restaurant at the NT has moved and not re-opened yet. Vegetarian options: Very good

Came here for my birthday with a virgin day voucher for a drinks flight and bar snack for two. Was an enjoyable experience, lots of wines to taste and a nice platter to share. The voucher was good value for money but didn’t allow for optimum experience of the restaurant. The views are great and the atmosphere is nice, good for a date night.

We spent over 100 each and received poor service despite many working the floor and not a full house. Restaurant smelt like fish when we walked in. Menu was dated and table wasn't very clean and damaged. Sole was overcooked and linguine definitely wasn't freshly made pasta, very unremarkable for the price. We suspect poor quality food ingredients. Great view, decent wine and nice cocktails. Would go for pre dinner drinks but not for dinner or dessert again.

We had a brunch in Skylon with the free flowing prosecco. We used a voucher from the Virgin Experience days and it was value for money. We had nice starters, but the steak was not a good quality. The staff were polite and the prosecco was flowing, as per specification. Our tables were not covered with any cloth, so the look was very canteen style. Yes, the views are amazing. So it was a good experience.
