Want able to eat here. Googled a nice restaurant near me, drive 45 minutes out of our way to get there and it's only for guests. Which is fine, but don't advertise being open maybe.

(Translated by Google) Nice atmosphere, but that's about it. The service was harsh and the food was served on ice cold plates, making it almost inedible. The scallops were bland and watery, certainly not freshly caught but from the freezer. For 2 main courses, a cheese board and a glass of red wine we paid £113!! An absolute "no go"! Ein absoluter „no go“ !

Fine dining food in a relaxed atmosphere. My pea puree and mashed potato were both badly underseasoned, but everything else was delicious and everything on the plate was cooked well. Pricey, but definitely recommended for an occasion meal.

Ive been debating leaving a review for over a week now as needed some time to reflect in order leave a fair honest comment so here it is. The bar and dining area are beautiful with high end decor throughout and the bar staff were friendly. We ordered a bottle of pinot gregio and awaited our table to be ready. The menu was pricey (at £21 for scallops starter and £38 for a main) but we would have been quite happy with this if the food had had delivered on taste, it did not! The black pudding on my starter was cold inside and scallops were like jelly, so bad i actually fed parts of them to the dog, my partner was also unimpressed, there was no check back, however i did inform politly the waitress when she came to clear our plates. I had the venison as a main, it was only ok and nothing special, i had to ask for a steak knife again no check back during the meal, the presentation was excellent though, it just lacked taste. My partner did enjoy his main meal. We were asked 3 times in quick succesion by different waitresses if we wanted a dessert on the 4th time when we were asked yet again we said no as felt we were being rushed and left. I think the price tag was £215 for 2 courses each 2 bottles of wine. It would have been better if both options of pinot were offered as the other was half the price at £30 instead if £60, the wine was excellent though. For the following 2 days i had a really upset tummy, i do think it was due to the scallops, all the other places ive had them they have tasted really good and not at all like this. Its such a shame the dining experiance has let this fabulous venue down, everywhere else we have eaten in scotland has been incredible. My reccomendation is if your charging high end prices then the service and quality should always reflect this otherwise charge normal prices so the expectation isnt so high.

Went to this restaurant while on our honeymoon, hoping for a nice romantic dinner, and we were sorely disappointed. Terrible service - it took a while when first arriving to actually find someone who worked there to seat us, and then our whole dinner was rushed with our waitress practically demanding we order within just a minute of sitting down, starters brought out before drinks, and entrees just a few minutes after the starters. It actually felt like they were trying to get us out of there as soon as possible. Yet when we were hoping to pay the bill and get out of there, it took nearly 20 minutes to get the attention of the staff. We were not given bread or an amuse bouche like other tables. The cocktails were overpriced (£13.50 for a poorly made cocktail with barely a full pour of liquor), and the beef not cooked to order. Two stars for freshness of seafood, presentation of food, and beautiful views. Overall, overpriced for the experience and would recommend spending your money elsewhere.

Beautiful building and location, but the food was tasteless and overcooked. The cullen skink lacked spices, and the beef had nothing amazing... We did not dare to try the desserts.. Waaay overpriced !!! Although the products were local, 100£ per person for this kind of meal is unjustified and the bitterness is strong. Also the staff barely talks and seem like they had no idea of what was in the menu (seemed like lost students), and never checked if we were fine.. Altogether, a simple fish and chips in Portree would seem a definitely better option !

A lovely break from the trails and the trekking. Reservations are highly recommended. The food will only blow your mind if you're inclined to appreciate the artistic plating.
