I'm biased because I have an allotment at the Six Bells but truth to say, they're good. Closeburn the town, free manure provided by Kiln Farm and three water tanks. The soul is generally poor but responds well to enrichment with compost. Paths are well maintained and the off road parking is safe and convenient. The BP garage at the entrance provides Costa Coffee for other holders needing refreshments. Onions, the soft fruit, potatoes and rhubarb seem to thrive. Carrots find it difficult for some reason. There's lots of experts on hand to give advice.
