Came across this statue while in Paddington Basin to see the Fan and Rolling Bridge. This statue stands in tribute to Sir Simon Milton, who was a British politician and served in the administration of Boris Johnson during his mayorship. His legacy was his contribute to overseeing the planning of urban development and to civil service The statue depicts a seated Milton. The statue is cast in bronze, but doesn't appear to be life size, having the proportions of a child.

Milton is one of the most memorialised people in the history of London. He was a jobbing, unelected Civil Servant, whose life achievements wouldn’t justify a single statue let alone the multitude that have sprung up since his early death. Google gives some fairly obvious reasons for this farce at the taxpayer’s expense.
