Good selection of young plants especially for hanging baskets and well laid out. Nice little cafe, but dogs have to sit outside which is unusual for a garden centre as they’re normally welcome inside the cafe / restaurant, of all the other places we visit. Food was nice and all the waiting staff were very friendly and helpful. The lady on the till was quite rude and abrupt and spoke to the staff as if they were dirt. I know it was busy, but not sure why this person would be on the front desk if she’s so unfriendly!

We booked earlier in the year for afternoon tea, when we arrived, we were put by a very noisy baby shower group. We had to leave and cancelled our time, as staff were so focused with this group. it was extremely cramped. When we explained to why we was leaving due to having afternoon tea is around the experience as this was given as a gift voucher to enjoy therefore will be looking at rebooking. We still had to chase for our voucher to be given back. Having rebooked, the young girl made sure we was in the main area and not in the extended area. The rest of staff have given the impression they don't like working there as don't smile and check if all is ok. We had to ask another member staff for sugar as we was just left lwith drinks whilst waiting for our treat. When this arrived, it appears that they don't respect vegetarians food should be separate as the sandwiches were on same place as meat sandwiches when it was clearly highlighted one veggie person and one meat person. When asked to why veggie selection of sandwiches served next the meat, the older woman rolled her eyes, looked the plate as she as going to take away and before she went back challenged us saying it hasn't touched the meat as u can seen a gap and she made it herself. On the whole most of the food was ok other than the scones were rock hard and appears to be very dry and not fresh. It's a shame as the garden centre we have used so many times however now have a tarnish view of the place due to the older staff lack basic customer service with a smile and checking all is ok and when asking a valid question not to be greeted with rolling eyes and a negative approach. People go to have afternoon tea for an experience not to see staff who are appearing to hating their jobs. We certainly will not be going back for a meal. It appears we were not the only ones to complain as staff actions today showed they were clearly fed up and enjoying their jobs.

Went for lunch with my daughter and grandson. Limited sandwich choice, £7 overpriced and quality was not what it was. Used to love eating there but I will not be going back
