  WARNING!!!This service is a SCAM! and JAKE KWAKU ACHEAMPONG is a passive aggressor, liar and gaslighter towards black people. I’m not the one to write negative reviews but I genuinely want to warn especially the black women. Where do I start? Single black dating was introduced to me by a family friend last year and I finally decided to give it a go. I even read the distasteful negative reviews but I thought I’d give this black owned business the benefit of the doubt. All I can say is this service is very unprofessional to the point it’s even embarrassing to discuss this with anyone. I enquired about SBD by filling out my details on the website. Jake then contacted me very briefly to talk about the service I would receive stating he has over 2000 “black men” on his database (huge lie). I hadn’t made up my mind but then Jake added me onto watsapp to ask if I was ready to join and at that point I messaged the type of match I was looking for and this was reassured to me by Jake Kwaku it was possible. There was no conversation about any consultations etc. During this time, I tried to be as pleasant and patient as possible even though I had read the horrible reviews. After payment of £280 was sent for 3 months, Jake told me I’d receive a match by the upcoming Tuesday which I didn’t until the Wednesday 23:00 out of hours after prompting (red flag among many). A match was sent but it was a gentlemen I had known in the past so requested to be rematched. The rematch never came. I noticed that once payment was received the response to my queries became extremely delayed which put me in a vulnerable state. After just two weeks I decided to request for a full refund of £280 which I was paid much later of £230 stating that because the matchmaking service had started and I was provided with a match (which was incompatible) I would not be fully refunded. He stole £50 for doing absolutely nothing! Just to add I did not even go out on any dates and this service is actually disgraceful which I made clear to Jake after the full refund was not paid back. Reply from Jake Kwaku on watsaap: “You are very unprofessional and complicated woman. This is why we are very careful who we work with. I will cease all communication with you. Hope you find the perfect one. Its always an uphill struggle dealing with your own black people and I am not surprised by your perception and attitude. This is how we are. I deal with different and most dont act like we black people do to our own. This is typical example. I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO THE HORRIFIC NEGATIVE REVIEWS. I could write soo much about my terrible short experience but I’m sure you all understand. Please do not waste your valuable time or money and protect your emotional health and well-being from this man Jake Kwaku. I will also be discussing this with my lawyer because this is not an authentic genuine match-making service. All the other “positive reviews” on google are fake just look at the time frame they were all sent. Plus the actual “positives reviews” on the business website appear scripted. Also his response to some of the reviews are soo degrading towards women and unprofessional on all levels. To set up a service for matchmaking requires dedication, passion, empathy, reliability and time which Jake does not have. Thank God I don’t have to ever deal with this man ever again. He will probably lie he doesn’t know who I am but he clearly does. He may even become abusive but as long as I’m protecting people from not using this service and having their money stolen is more important to me. May you all find true love and happiness but not through this unreliable embarrassing service. Love and Blessings X

  Awful experience and the owner of the company (JAKE KWAKU!!!) is a crook and extremely deceptive. Honestly avoid at ALL costs. This set-up is a scam and exploits those seriously looking for love. Disappointing to say the least - please do not be a victim…

  My friend and I decided to join this dating website. However, after her experience with the owner, there is no way I will ever consider giving Jake Kwaku a penny! I have also completed my further research under the company’s ID number (12465919) with “companies house”: and it shows NO INFORMATION about the business (ie director/owner’s name) which is a red flag. It also states the company opened in 2020 (during the lockdown?) indicating he used this opportunity to target vulnerable women who are looking for companionship. Reading some of the responses from the company makes me aware that this is not a trustworthy company who can help any woman find love. How can the owner call a woman who he took money from “unattractive” this is absolutely appalling. My friend bypassed the reviews to give this business the benefit of doubt and she was faced with abuse from Jake Kwaku; shame on you JAKE KWAKU! I will pass these reviews and information to OFCOM because these are financial hard times and under no circumstance should someone take advantage of women this way.

  I should have read the reviews first...omg the worst service ever and they aren't giving me my money back. Jake constantly lied telling me he was getting me 'matches' and yet weeks later I was still on follow up duty. This happened so frequently I lost count. Then he said yes I'll send you one now....never did. Also the matches often didn't meet my criteria e.g. being far above my already flexible age range and were not compatible. Jake also openly insulted black women (I have written evidence of this - he said he didn't have 'these problems' working with Asian women.) It is discouraging that members of the team have such prejudices towards black women, whilst also supposedly trying to find them love. From my experience, there were numerous instances of delays and unprofessionalism e.g. inviting me to events less than 30 minutes prior to the event starting. This service added so much stress to my life!!!! Which I really don't need due to a chronic health condition. I wish I'd never ever signed up!!!!!!!!!! Omg!!!!!!!! Ive noted that the responses to the seemingly open and honest feedback on google are degrading, distasteful and nasty e.g. Saying a woman is unattractive and men didn't want her (or something to that effect)... not exactly professional or respectful...but is sadly indicative and reflective of the poor quality service of this company. Black people deserve good quality service like other people... we shouldn't have to settle for unprofessional, rude or unkind service 'just because'... companies like this which are soooooo below par need to be held accountable, so we can improve standards. When I asked whether the company had a complaints procedure (which they should have legally) Jake became very defensive, gaslit me, brushed me off ("stop moaning" etc) and I still do not know the complaints procedure for this company. He was so unkind, disrespectful and personal upon receiving any kind of professional concern for the service I was receiving, I'm genuinely a bit worried about how he might be after this is posted. Please be careful out there...I wish you all the love and happiness and hope you don't have to go through this bad experience on your love journey!

  WARNING - These guys will use your credit card as they please they have stolen £450 from me for doing nothing: This is not a match making service, if you are serious do not waste your money or time. The service listed on the website is not what you receive. The screening of matches is poor, in 6 months I received three matches. One was incompatible, one did not have a complete profile and the other was sent in a file format that is not a universal standard like pdf so I couldn't open it. Response times to requests or queries are slow. There is no significant database of black men, this was confirmed by Jake himself. The fact I got to the point of asking for a refund took me time, I was for the first five months constructive in my feedback wanting to support a black owned business. My feedback was received politely and ignored. The final thing to note is his response when I told him I would report him to get the refund he refused to give me, he referred to how "dealing with your own" is always a challenge and drama. For me this showed the business was not serious about providing a professional service to black people, expecting us to put up with the substandard service they decided to provide. This was disappointing and time intensive, don't bother. Following up on this, do not give them your credit card details at all. I was charged without my permission for another 6 months of this service that I clearly expressed I no longer wanted to be subscribed to and had managed to get a very slow refund for. In doing so, I was given abuse by the owner for not supporting the business unconditionally as they were black owned.

  This is a scam. Do not take my review lightly. I have spent the past 2 weeks delving into this company, Single Black Dating. They post on several different platforms (eventbrite, meetup etc.) which demand money upfront, fine, no problem. When you get to the event, the space has not been informed of any event taking place. Nor have they heard of the company. They are now branching out (in London) and using several different venues/locations as they are being clamped down on. Do not spend any money with them. They host events under the titles 'single black dating' or 'single muslim dating', all of these events are not real and they are simply collecting the ticket money. The 5 star reviews on Google are fake, look at the dates they were created, all within 4-6 weeks of each other. They are scammers. They are criminals. They feel no guilt in ripping off 'their own'. You have been warned.

  NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL. I was given a discount +still wasn't matched. In the month membership it stated 2 MATCHES, PROFILE, CONSULTATION CALL. NONE OF THE ABOVE. WHEN I CONTACTED him he said I would get 2 more matches. He matched me with a incompatible profile that he sent me. I asked for a refund before he said no then he agreed at the end of the month. And that was another lie for not up holding his end of his website. As the claim is over £100 my solicitor that deals with criminal law has told me all the steps in taking this guy JAKE kwaku to court. This man is not fair or can be trusted and I have all the paper trail. I already told him once that I suffer with mental heath and Im Registered disabled. So the most decent way would of been to refund me as he stated. I will be making sure i receive justice for playing with my heart when I had told him I was in a vulnerable state, in the get go. And cost and compensation will be included. I have a friend that is a Councillor of Brixton and in sure he will help me broadcast the treatment I've received, to inform others to be CAREFUL
