    A good company with great benefits. There is one notable issue. After I had left the company on the 31st March 2023, My phone miraculously connected to the Bluetooth on the van I was driving on approximately two occasions, twice on the 1st April 2023 after midnight. This was the day after I had officially left the company. The van I was driving was handed back to the company approximately 1 month prior to myself leaving the company as I was on garden leave and it was never near my home. Although I was nowhere near the van, having previously removed the connection completely and ensuring it was removed, for some strange reason, it connected with my smartphone and I believe this was done remotely. I don't think I could work for this company again based on this experience, nobody wants to be spied on but the company will be in denial, unless there was a Police operation ongoing. It is shocking! Having mentioned the above, it means to say Simtec or an individual working for Simtec materials testing, cannot be trusted and they have been listening in to my calls and have been spying on me which is a shame. Unless the company wants to compensate me or investigate the matter now that I have put it out there as everyone will be in denial and we would never learn the truth, however, all the best to those who work for Simtec! Site technicians should be trained better with more in depth training, to ensure that they are fully competent in their role as site technicians. You have to be fully committed to the job, as your hours in a day can vary and could be anything. 12+ hours, dependant on the job on certain days or some days even a couple of hours. Fully independent with your own van as well as tools and equipment for those that are site technicians just as I was. Should be days where you can meet other site technicians so everyone knows each other (group bonding sessions) 😁 Pay can be better as basic hours are 45 a week and not 40 unless that will change?!! Everyday is different and working outdoors is a big bonus as the time does fly when your @ work. It is all outdoor work anyway!
