I started with Simply Prep Meals 4 weeks ago and I am loving it! The carbs and the veggies are cooked to perfection. The choices for ‘spicy’ protein are quite impressive: cajun, tandoori, jerk (my fav!), páprica etc. However, the thing I like the most is that I am in control of the calories, and most importantly, of the carbs. I aim for 800 calories/50g carbs and Simply Prep Meals helps me achieve this without the stress of having to count it all myself. The portions are very generous and i am happy to say that i am eating more protein and veggies than ever before! New items are added frequently (and there are already so many possible combinations) making the meals interesting and exciting. Also to note, customer service is amazing: prompt, helpful and positive. It is very reasonably priced and at last, there is no food waste in my fridge. I highly recommend the products from this company.

Was asked to go for an interview for a chefs position as this lady also has the contract for Coventry city's training ground. Was messed around with where the interview would take place F.inally met Lou in Solihull at Costa Coffee but that was closed so we popped to the coffee shop opposite. She was very nice she was impressed with what I had been doing and said she was off to corfu as she had started another business there. She also said she had seen a coffee shop in Shirley she was interested in. I explained I was finishing my contract on 14th August and could sign another 6 months but the new company moving in did not want to pay the same income. That's why I was looking for a move. She basically said she would also be interested in me at the coffee shop which position would I prefer. I said cooking is what I enjoyed more. She then said il call you when I get back you can come over to my unit in Coventry where I run an online business simply prep meals. This lady sounded really nice we got on well. She said il definatly be in touch I'm really interested. I had rushed to get to meet her I had just cooked 60 breakfasts and lunches washed up and cleaned down as I work alone at the moment. I had no time to change which I explained I would be coming straight from work. I left feeling good she had practically offered me the position. Oh not to be I finished my contract didn't sign a new one waited for the call. Nothing I text her few times no reply then Sunday a text saying she already had the candidate for the football ground. Well I had been lead a merry dance. I am a professional chef i work to high standard. Obviously Lou is not a professional business lady and treets people like pawns. I have wasted my time. I have however learnt my lesson and will now be staying self employed and preparing my meals for others online. So a bit of competition never hurt anyone. Good luck Lou in your ventures. Maybe you could learn to be honest with people. I understand its your prerogative but it's also not a nice or professional way to conduct business.

Delivery was fine and was received last Friday. I really wanted to like the meals but they are just so dry. The taste isn't bad but everything I have had requires me to drink loads of water (not a bad thing mind!). The meatballs could easily have had more sauce added without adding too many calories surely. The fact that you have to guess how long to microwave between 2-3 mins could be a factor to the dryness but I doubt it. I also had a lemon wedge in with the Talapia meal which I didn't know about. This didn't microwave very well and ruined part of the fish as the skin almost melted into it. The fact the nutritional breakdown isn't on the packs either is an issue. I understand they are working on adding but when you are paying over £5 per meal this should be on the meals as a matter of course. I contacted them and was provided a fact sheet when I asked - this should be sent with the meals as a matter of course though. Especially when the point of this is to let them take care of your macros/nutrition. This is the first time I had used such a service as I often think these are well overpriced and not as good as what I can make at home. I think I have been proved right. I wanted the convenience though as I have a busy schedule. I was expecting great things from reading the testimonials but I can only presume the people that like the meals are used to dry and somewhat average food. It may well be that the meals just don't reheat well, which affects the flavour. They are not terrible, far from it. They are just not what I hoped for. It is a shame as I really wanted to like it because it would be so convenient for me.

Really impressed with both the customer service, and the food. Small hiccup with the delivery service (out of Simply Preps hands), but it was sorted within the same day, and food delivered 9am the next morning. The food itself is really good, can't fault it at all, plus the ability to switch and choose different combinations is a great idea. The only improvement I could see, would be that I love to see the macros on food you have ordered (as you currently have to check the food page) - But I wouldn't say this was an issue, just a convenience factor. Once I have done with this order, I will definitely be coming back for seconds!
