A great guitar tutor. I'm a beginner and use rocksmith software and ultimate guitar tabs which are good tools but don't always pick up where a mistake is being made. Simon has been helping me become a more efficient guitar player by giving me techniques to get the best sound out of my playing. Little things like when learning to string bend about where to bend the strings up to. By using the frets further up the neck to give an idea what the string bend should sound like. Whether a beginner all the way up to an expert there is always something Simon could give you some advice on from his many years of knowledge. Highly recommended.

Been having guitar lessons with Simon since January 2022. I started as a complete beginner and have enjoyed improving through the lessons. Simon is always positive, encouraging and allows you to learn at your own pace, looking at songs you are interested in. Highly recommended if you are looking at taking up guitar 🎸!

I started guitar lessons with Simon in the summer of 2021, having been self taught for around 24 years. When I say self taught, I really mean it. It was me, a Yamaha Pacifica and a copy of the tab book for Nirvana's Nevermind album. My playing had been very stop start over the years so even with resources like Youtube, my 24 years of playing in reality amounted to the equivalent of around 4/5 years. I had heard great things about Simon from a close friend and so decided to start regular lessons. Best decision I ever made. Fact. Simon is an incredibly friendly and professional individual who also happens to enjoy rock and metal music as I do (he was formerly a guitarist in the band Budgie who were a huge influence on a very cult hipster band called Metallica, so that should give you an idea of his pedigree) Having lessons with Simon confirmed to me that although we are very lucky to be living in an age of 'teach yourself' resources like YouTube, there is most definitely a ceiling when it comes to progress. Videos on YouTube are generally free for a reason. The nuances of guitar playing can ONLY be picked up with a tutor, and an excellent on at that. I really cannot recommend Simon highly enough. I tend to focus on rock and metal personally but if you have a look on his website, you will see that he is worth looking up whatever genre of music you are into. My sincerest thanks for everything you have done for my playing Simon!

I went to Simon as i had reached a barrier in my guitar self learning off the internet and i was not progressing. Simon made me feel completely at ease despite my limited ability and knowledge and within a few minutes had shown me tips and techniques which i would not have found on the internet which has impacted me immediately. I am looking forward to my next lesson with enthusiasm.

Simon is an incredible guitar player and an amazing guitar teacher ! I urge anyone who is learning guitar to book lessons with Simon.his knowledge is out of this world,he teaches in a relaxed comfortable environment ( in case anyone is nervous). Basically speaking,Simon has helped me so much in understanding more of the guitar and how the fretboard is layed out and I’m doing things and playing things I thought I’d never be able to; through lack of knowledge,understanding and lack of confidence too really.Just as soon as I have more time I’ll be back having more lessons with Simon.If you’re serious about learning guitar you will not find a better teacher than Simon.10/10
