FAQ

What is your process for creating sculptures?

We begin by sketching out the design and then creating a 3D model. Once the model is approved, we select the appropriate type of stone and begin carving. Our process involves a combination of hand carving and modern tools, ensuring precision and attention to detail. We also take into consideration the natural characteristics of the stone to create a unique and beautiful finished product.

Can you provide examples of your previous works and their respective prices?

Yes, we have a portfolio of our previous works on our website and in our workshop. Each piece is unique and priced accordingly based on factors such as size, complexity, and type of stone used. Please contact us for specific pricing information.

What is your timeline for completing a sculpture, and how do you ensure quality throughout the process?

The timeline for completion varies depending on the size and complexity of the sculpture, but we typically provide an estimated completion date at the beginning of the project. We maintain quality throughout the process by regularly reviewing and adjusting our techniques, as well as consulting with the client to ensure their satisfaction.

What types of stone do you use for your carvings?

We use a variety of stones, including marble, limestone, sandstone, and granite. Each type of stone has unique characteristics that we take into consideration when selecting it for a specific project.

Do you offer delivery and installation services for your stone carvings?

Yes, we offer delivery and installation services for our stone carvings. We work with a trusted network of professionals to ensure safe and efficient delivery and installation of our sculptures. Please contact us for more information about our delivery and installation services.

Simon did the most beautiful job of my mother's headstone. He was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. Most probably not the most challenging job for him judging by his other work, but faultless nonetheless. I would highly reccomend him.

As part of a major building and landscaping project we commissioned Simon to create a large, carved stone water bowl, with decoration. This is displayed at the White Eagle Lodge, Hampshire. Simon provided great input into the design and was easy to work with. The end result exceeded our expectations.

We commissioned Simon to carve an oak leaf into an existing York stone floor in a newly-built Spa. The purpose was to marry art and function: a rain showerhead, located 4m up in the Spa rafters would rain onto the York flooring and the oak leaf would delicately channel the water into a drain gully, also carved of stone by Simon. From concept design to implementation, Simon and I worked well together. This was a tricky installation as the work was in situ, and the floor has underfloor heating and drain structures. Would recommend for those looking for a bespoke service and design.

I have attended a number of Simon's sculpture classes over a number of years. Simon is a brilliant teacher. He provides great advice and thoughtful guidance from the initial planning to the final piece. I'm really proud of the pieces I've made. Simon's woodland workshop is a haven of peace and tranquility. There is no better way of spending a day that chipping away at a block of stone and enjoying the great company of Simon and the other like-minded people attending the workshop.
