I have just returned from a day and a half's researching at the county archives and wanted to express my thanks for the excellent service that I received. The material that I had ordered in advance was awaiting me and the assistants were most helpful and professional in fetching and carrying it and generally making me feel welcome. My only problem now is that I have completely forgotten how I established what it was that I ordered originally! I have searched the archives website but cannot seem to come across the source of my earlier success. It was many months ago. Perhaps I paid a fee for a short search originally? If so, I must have used as a key word the original spelling of my surname, which was Goold. I know that you are constantly adding to your collections, so I wish to keep in touch and will have to find my way in again. Many thanks once more.
