Lucky find! Alastair and Mary are both lovely. Welcoming and attentive. Tea and cake, delicious breakfast that was beautifully presented, log fire in sitting room, stunning grounds with peacocks, excellent master bedroom with bath. I stayed as part of hiking on South Downs and Alastair was able to pick me up/drop me off at the trail and also gave me a lift to Flower Pots pub for dinner. Perfect escape. Would happily return.

Amazing! We stayed one night at Shorley Wood, and had a great time. Alistair and Mary were generous hosts, who offered help wherever possible - and welcomed us with tea and cake. The house and room were beautiful, and the peacocks were lovely to watch. Would definitely come back, especially in spring when the daffodils are out.

Alastair and Mary were the most welcoming and friendly hosts you could want. I was walking the South downs way with my friend. We were picked up at no extra cost, from the south downs way. They recommended a local pub for dinner, rang ahead to pre order our meal, drove us there and then picked us up after dinner and a few drinks. Very beautiful B&B in an idyllic setting and great value for money. I could not think of a better stop for two weary travellers. Attentive hosts, comfortable bed, excellent breakfast. I will visit again and I could not recommend staying here more!

Brilliant B&B at Shorley Wood. Hosts Alastair and Mary couldn't have been kinder. Bedroom beautiful and spacious. Location idyllic in oak woodland but only just off A272 so easy to find. Breakfast simply perfect. Thoroughly recommend.
