Drawn by the reviews I came once and waited at the counter for a long time, after a while I was looking directly into the kitchen from the counter and still kitchen staff did not appear. Not to be deterred, I assumed they were busy but noticed there was no one in the restaurant around 2.30 ish. Eventually a staff member appeared and simply said 'the restaurant is closed'. I have not been back yet, but after reading Suzanne Iwai's review, maybe not.

Visited here last week and for me it was my first time after hearing rave reviews from my partner. It did not disappoint. My partner enquired about off the menu items (bbq lamb shoulder) and Aida was sweet enough to prepare it specially for us. This was the highlight of the visit. So tender and full of flavour. We also LOVED the chicken biriyani and the naan was the perfect texture and flavour-pillowy and soft. Entire restaurant was very clean including the bathroom. Staff were lovley and accommodating Aida was present the day we visited and you can tell after speaking to her the passion and love she has for her food and business which really translates in the food. Definitely would revisit and recommend to friends and family

I went to shoal kitchen as the reviews were amazing online however my experience was the complete opposite. as soon as I walked into the restaurant there were rats running around there were fruit flies flying around and I saw one of the waiters stick their hand in their pants and handle the food with it afterwards. as disgusted as I was I still thought id give it a chance and ordered some food. as I ordered there was a kid there with multi coloured nails eating a seekh kebab whilst viciously starving at me in my eyes making me extremely uncomfortable. and I also noticed he also did this to multiple other men which was really odd in my opinion. the food was mediocre at best and I found fingernails in my naan.
