Well here we go, contacted Shipley glass and was received buy quite an arrogant hardened arrogant female receptionist, only politely asked for a quote regarding some frosted glass. NEVER AGAIN. Taken my custom elsewhere and had a great price AND delivery. Personally? Avoid as loss of a customer .vile creature. Seriously.

A family firm with friendly staff that delivered a good product. No pressure. I chose Shipley Glass because I wanted a small well established business that that I could trust to do a good job without pressuring me into buying more than I needed. (I wanted windows fitted but not doors.) I dealt with three lots of people. The receptionist. Two men who measured my windows. Two window fitters who fitted the windows. Friendly staff. Everyone I dealt with from Shipley Glass was polite, friendly and easy to get on with. They explained my options but made no attempt to talk me into buying a door after I told them I only wanted windows. Hard working. When the workmen arrived, they explained what they were going to do, asked if I had any questions, then immediately put down dust sheets and started work. They worked hard all day only stopping for a short dinner break. I got exactly what I wanted. Shipley Glass offer different color window frames but they don't stock as many designs as the big firms. However, I think my windows look great and I'm very happy with them. I'm happy to give Shipley Glass 5 stars.

Overall excellent for a full house of windows and doors. Pleasant, no pressure, process for deciding what we wanted and kept well informed with delivery timescale. The installation guys (Steve & Pete) were great... easy to work with, tidy and obviously very good at what they do. More than happy with the overall experience.

worst company DO NOT BUY ANTYHING FROM THEM, they did mentioned the cheapest rates, when agreed to do a job, came and broke the hinge of the windows and when asked to fit it just gave false promise. Though might be one off but NO, PAUL and Philip came to take the cash and promised to sort it out, when asked to rectify their mistake as money was paid, started ignoring calls, did not bothered to complete it. A worst customer service and not so reliable people to deal with. BE CAUTIOUS DO NOT GET LURED IN THEIR TALKS!

I asked for a broken double glazed unit to be replaced.Turned up quickly, measured up, promised delivery / fitting " at the back end of the week." Great! Quoted £200 which I thought was pretty steep but they seemed able to get it done quick, so said ok. A month later - no glass, no phone call, nothing whatsoever. Glass is still broken. Not impressed.

Firstly, I was an existing customer of Shipley Glass. However I cannot believe that basic customer service can have fallen so low, staff reminiscent of characters straight out of Acorn Antiques and front of house much like the Mrs Overall 'two soups' character. How management misguidedly think this is suitable for customer facing for this company truly beggars belief. It took a staggering 4 MONTHS for Shipley Glass to cut and toughen a piece of glass for me, the toughening process having been sub contracted by them. Even so, they managed to accept my piece of glass back from the sub contractor THREE times cut the wrong size and despite me having left my original plain piece of glass to simply copy from. My original was given to them and it came back three times along with the new piece cut the wrong size. Seemingly nobody thought to check both matched but me. How anybody involved in the glass industry can make this kind of basic measurement mistake and then not check both pieces are the same before sending them back, and then calling me to collect it three times wrong just tells me they don't really care about what they do. No one at Shipley Glass is ever available to speak to, apart from the hopeless individual there every Friday, always making out she is "just helping out with paperwork" , and says she'll "speak with her boss" although she is actually directly related. Having already paid for the glass before the nightmare started, I didn't find her suggestion of "why don't you go somewhere else?" very helpful, after it had come back the second time cut wrong, and after I had showed her the new piece didn't match my original again. She then said she "didn't know anything about glass" as if you somehow had to know about glass in order to see they weren't the same size. When I said give me a refund and I will, she said she didn't have any money there. I eventually spoke with both directors separately when she finally got them on the phone and requested a refund for my ordeal and was refused. I had driven back to Shipley Glass 7 times over the 4 month period of wasted time. As both directors of Shipley Glass were aware of this issue early on, and obviously she was too, I would have expected at least one of them to get personally involved to make sure it was sorted out. Not one of them did. My last visit to Shipley Glass (on a Friday), I talked back through the entire 4 months events , everything that had been said and her responses, and asking her opinion of what had happened, and what she would have done if she had the same service elsewhere, she was quite vocal. When she called her son and put him on the phone I told him my only thing left was to leave a Google review to which he answered "go ahead". I recorded everything on my phone throughout my last visit so that everything said is transparent, and I could only fit a fraction on here. What I do know that anyone can make a genuine mistake, but not three mistakes in a row the same thing, time and time again. And if that happens It's how you then address that as a business that really matters. If any of them had stepped up to the mark and said "look we know this has all gone wrong, how can we sort it out for you?" I maybe would have still been a customer, but because of this attitude of completely not bothered and indifference , I'll steer well clear of Shipley Glass in the future.
