I bought a voucher for my husbands birthday. However not long after, I fell extremely ill. To put how serious this was, I nearly died…twice! At one point, we did book, but it was cancelled due to the weather, but then I fell ill again just before Christmas last year (I’ve also offered to provide proof of this). Understandably, the flight was put to the back of our minds and consequently, the voucher expired in December 2022. I came across the voucher a couple of weeks ago and I was so upset my husband had missed out…he’s been my rock. I called Sherburn Aero Club about this and it was suggested I email the Board of Directors, which I did. I was shocked at their harsh, and I mean harsh, reply and lack of understanding, and no we didn’t get our voucher extended. Now I understand that there are terms and conditions to be clearly seen, but this only states that the voucher is non refundable and surely there are extreme exceptions that can overrule these. I feel they’ve been really unfair and their lack of understanding…well I have no words. However, it’s been lovely to read all the wonderful experiences everyone’s had, and I’m so happy for you all. I just wish my husband, after all he’s done for me and our family, could have had that opportunity with the club.
