Attended a christening party here for my friends' little boy. I got there and was told it was upstairs so I struggled up there being disabled to find that it wasn't the right gathering. So I ended up back at the front door, to be told that there is a 2nd function room at the back of the building on the ground floor! To be honest it is like a rabbit warren if you don't know where you are going as there are 2 sets of stairs, one front & back. Anyway, both rooms are great, the upstairs room is big with a real-sized stage that is 3 to 4 feet high. At the other end, there is a large, fully stocked bar that uses cinema-style queueing so there are no arguments which is a great idea, especially with the consumption of alcohol. This room would hold at least 100+ people, however, I recommend asking the club as the exact number is determined by the local fire regulations and must not be exceeded for everyones safety. The other room at the back is much smaller. It has a bar and a small dance floor, plus plenty of comfortable seating available around the tables. A great and very welcome surprise was just how cheap their bar prices are. I ordered my drink and was shocked when it came with change! The bar staff were pleasant and helpful when asked, the members of the club that I met were nice too. SO in summary, it is a great place to book for any function that you may be organising. It was clean and tidy everywhere including, the bathrooms being spotless. Drink prices were cheap with the high ended offerings costing more which you would naturally expect. I don't drink beers or ales however, the members who drink them seemed more than happy with theirs. I don't know if they have any extension of drinking hours for functions held there but the staff or the club committee would be the ones to ask. All things considered, I was impressed with this place rating them 9½/10 as nothing is perfect!
