We visited with a large family party the evening before our Mother’s funeral. We were given the smaller of the private rooms and our experience from start to finish was superb. Paul, who organised the booking and Kris who was there on the day were excellent. Both mangers and all staff went out of their way for our family group. Nothing was too much trouble and on a very busy day, service was prompt without being intrusive. The whole staff made what was a difficult time for us so much easier and for any local family who had not visited Sheldon Hall before, they all agreed it would not be their last visit. The food was plentiful, well made and good value and thoroughly enjoyed by all 24 of us.

Nice bar and location, sadly let down by the tough beef on the carvery. The person carving, was aware how tough the meat was as she commented about it while carving it up. Sadly a well looked forward to, roast beef dinner was ruined, in what could have been an otherwise perfectly acceptable meal. The other meals served to the table where well presented and where absolutely fine.

The gravy wasn't very flavoursome & the smokers stand very close to the entrance, causing that area to smell alot... However, otherwise, I really like the venue!
