Parcel arrived damage to Yodel, so it couldn't be delivered. According to customer service agent Brandon the STWC has no responsibliity in this. If I hadn't paid attention, apparently the company wouldn't redeliver and would have kept my money.

I've been a member since soon after Tony Liathwaite started bringing in wines himself in a Cortina estate from French producers who he knew for their quality and authenticity. You should read his life's story in his book 'Direct', a fascinating read from a very genuine wine lover and francophile. I can't believe some of the negative criticisms I read on here and wonder of their credibility in such a competitive market, with the likes of Naked and Majestic having jumped on his bandwagon model of offering wines he knew about personally without all the middlemen. I doubt they put as much personal investment in sourcing good quality wines worldwide than Tony does, by visiting the producers' vinyards, getting to know them personally and sampling their wines himself. Yes there will always be delivery and 'taste' issues and I myself am not a fan of continuation schemes. But over all this time I can honestly say the quality, pricing and service from the STWC, essentially Tony Laithwaite's operation, are second to none of the alternative wine sources in the UK.
