FAQ
What is your experience and training in craniosacral therapy?
We have trained and experienced craniosacral therapists who have completed certification courses and ongoing education in craniosacral therapy. Our therapists have years of experience providing craniosacral therapy to our clients. How does craniosacral therapy differ from other types of manual therapy?
Craniosacral therapy is a gentle, non-invasive form of manual therapy that focuses on releasing tension and restrictions in the craniosacral system. This system is made up of the bones, tissues and fluids that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. Unlike other forms of manual therapy, craniosacral therapy does not involve forceful manipulation of the body. How many sessions will I need and what can I expect during a typical session?
The number of sessions needed depends on the individual and their specific condition. During a typical session, the therapist will listen to your body's rhythms and use gentle touch to release restrictions in the craniosacral system. You will remain fully clothed and can expect to feel deeply relaxed during the session. What specific services does your sports medicine clinic offer?
At Sheffield Sports Medicine, we offer a range of services to help athletes and active individuals recover from injuries and improve their performance. These services include physiotherapy, sports massage, osteopathy, podiatry, and strength and conditioning training. What is your process for creating and implementing a personalized treatment plan for each patient?
Our therapists work closely with each patient to understand their specific needs and goals. We conduct a thorough assessment and create a personalized treatment plan that may include a combination of therapies and exercises to help the patient recover and reach their goals. We also provide ongoing support and guidance to ensure the treatment plan is effective and sustainable.Reviews

I arrived to see Michael with a very complex nerve pain issue after suffering eclampsia that caused severe mobility issues. Consultants told me I would have to give up work and slow the pace of my life, ask for help to take care of my children, at that point I found Dr Lee. Soon after I was back to good health again, still working hard and raising my children within just a few months I had fully recovered and was medication free. I'm writing this review 2 years later and I've not had an issue since.

When looking for the place online where I could leave a review, I came across one that perfectly phrased what I wanted to say. I have essentially copied this in abbreviated form, as well as adding some of my own thoughts. - I would not recommend this place if you want any sort of evidence based therapy. What is practiced is a mixture of reflexology and other pseudo scientific methods amounting to nothing more than a lot of nonsensical theory and a interventional placebo effect. - I was assured in the appointment that the therapy had "fixed" my chronic problems and they wouldn't return. I was of course extremely skeptical, but when you are a patient and in pain, you feel vulnerable and self-conscious within the appointment itself, so I didn't feel I could voice my concerns. In fact you feel hopeful that this might be true. Needless to say the promised "fix" did not occur. This is damaging to a patients mental health, which is already impacted by the chronic pain. - On a more basic level, the appointment was poorly managed time wise. The information/rationale/explanation was scattered and not easy to follow as a patient which leads to confusion. Given, how the "unknown" plays into pain, I think this approach seems strange and ineffective. - At the end of the appointment, I pushed for more information on what I could do going forward to help my pain and was told that I needed to book an appointment the following day to see someone else at the practice (and part with more large sums of money no doubt). - It was extortionate! There is no prices on the website which I think is awful. I have seen many private practitioners over the years and they tend to all sit around the same price range. This was above and beyond in price. Obviously, this is made worse by the fact that the appointment was ineffective and I honestly felt like the whole thing was a joke. - I attempted to complain and received no response. The issue I went in with was a chronic one, and undoubtedly comes with a psychological element. This appointment made me feel cheated and honestly upset. Please take time to consider who you see and what a "sports medicine" approach entails. If there was an option to put "no stars", I would.

I would not recommend this place if you want any sort of evidence based therapy. What is practised is a mixture of reflexology and other pseudo scientific methods amounting to nothing more than a lot of nonsensical theory and a interventional placebo effect. If you are looking for any kind of strength and conditioning advice to supplement your sport I would not recommend Sheffield Sports 'Medicine' at all. If you want to waste money on any number of pseudo science e.g. osteopathy, reflexology or acupuncture then go for it - I take issue with a clinic that makes claims of providing physiotherapy services and then actually delivers practise with no evidence base whatsoever. Furthermore, after my experience of the clinic despite three attempts to contact the clinic no response was given, which was strange as prior to my visit they were very helpful and responsive. Please look through their website before booking an appointment to have a look for yourself at the anecdotal type 'evidence' they have and don't waste your money here.

Amazing service. I’ve had back pain for 22 years and have tried many physios, sports doctors and chiropractors even from Harley street in London. The process was so simple and my back pain has gone from struggle to get out of bed with 10/10 pain to zero. Thank you so much for finding the cause of the problem and even curing my food intolerance that caused bloating, low energy and reflux. Cannot recommend enough if you have struggled with long term pain or symptoms and nothing else has worked.

I saw Dr Lee for around 8 sessions and the progress I made (and sustained) working with him has made such positive change to my life. If you are like me and exhausted all the NHS routes and still suffering, please visit Dr Lee. He is an intelligent, kind man with the ability to quickly identify what is causing you issues and work with you to get rid of them. Highly recommend.

I first met with Dr Michael Lee back in February for Sports Psychology help with my skiing. Since then I’ve said goodbye to my double vision after suffering for more than 20 years with it. I don’t pretend for one minute that I understand what Michael does, but whatever it is I can honestly say that it works. I’ve gone from taking a cocktail of 47 tablets a day for pain relief to taking nothing at all. A new way of life has started for me – I’m cycling again after a 34 year break and can walk for over 2 hours all without pain. I feel happier, healthier and more confident than I have done in years. I can't say that it hasn't been very challenging or painless but I can say that it has been tremendously rewarding. Yes, it’s been expensive but I can honestly say it’s been worth it - 100% without a doubt. When Covid-19 restrictions allow, I can’t wait to test it out with my skiing! Thank you Michael, Joyce and Sam.

The best service. Still having ongoing treatment by Michael for my chronic foot pain and really impressed by the knowledge and way of treatment as ONE method that helped me to dig out my underlying health problems that even myself was unaware of but Michae some how found to be as a root cause. Already seeing very positive results and very hopefull to achieve my best version as a very supportive and healthy Gp for my own patients . Can not recommend enough. I would say,if you can buy health from your wealth, this is the place to go...(the reason, I am saying this is because,to see Michael is bit expensive but trust me it worths every single penny). And offcourse health is the most essential thing to enjoy your life.So if you have any issues in your life that is affecting your achievements,Michael is there to help you with all his knowledge and passion. Best wishes to everyone reading the review..
