Extremely interesting site. This is where Mary Queen of Scots was held captive on the orders of Queen Elizabeth 1. Mary was the first international football referee when she persuaded her French Guards to play against the English. We don’t know who won! Cardinal Wolsey was sent here by Henry VIII th for execution but Wolsey had dysentery and spent a long time on the toilet that still survives. Many interesting displays. Well worth a visit and donation
