Stopped off to buy plants and books. Going back for a tour of the hall. Very tranquil space. Garden a delight not too formal. Very helpful owners/volunteers.

We didn't know that much about Laurence Sterne before our tour, but Patrick expertly bought the man and his work to life for us. Thoroughly recommended!

A lovely garden to explore, with a warm welcome from volunteers. Access to the museum is by prior arrangement during Covid, but a plant sale and small shop selling books and memorabilia is also available. Definitely worth a look if you're in the area - easy to combine with a visit to the nearby Byland Abbey.
