I don't usually review places since there is a waste of my time, but you need to know this about Shamrock (backed with pictures): - Everyone smoked. The whole place was filled with smoke odor, and furniture was stained with burnt marks. This means the smoke sensors don't work, and with all the carpetry, there is just a fire to happen someday. - The microwave smelled like at least 5 different meals, and it was rusty and stained. - The fridge had funghi. - Wi-Fi is inexistent. If you manage to get a signal and connect, you will expect very low speeds and disconnections. - I wasn't logged on any book when I arrived, so countrywise, I've never been there. - Shower pressure was not good, with water leaking from the shower head. The plastic door of the shower was broken. The drain was clogged after day 2. - The bed came only with a fitted sheet and duvet cover, and it fell short, so if you are 1.80m height, you may be bare feet. I know the place is affordable and such, but at least some minimum safety and health concerns should be taken.

When we turned up and was shown to our room the hallway outside the room stank of cigarette smoke. The man knocked on the door next to us and went away to come back with a strong perfumed air spray. This was no better. We had to block the gap under the door with a towel because it was so bad. We went to the party, which was walking distance and when we came back, it still smelt terrible of smoke and spray. As I hadn't drunk alcohol I decided I would rather drive for an hour and a half to get home at midnight rather than try to sleep with the strong smell of cigarette smoke. Very disappointed.

In 2019, I booked a 3 weeks stay at the Shamrock Hotel for a friend of mine who travelled to the UK from Jamaica for my graduation. We were pleased with the service we got for the price we paid. At check-in, the gentleman at reception was very professional and polite. The room and its surrounding was clean, pleasant and peaceful. For the 3 weeks my friend was there, every day a lady came and clean the room and shower. Based on our experience with this establishment, we would have no reservation in recommending them.

Room was poor, the owner tried kicking my partners cat who is only a kitten and then he had laughed afterwards in my partners face, had to clean the microwave, bathroom floor, shower, sink and toilet there were slugs coming through cracks on the skurting boards and other bugs on the floor, also had to pick up a peice of glass from the floor so the cat wouldn't hurt himself. Going past a room you could here everything going on inside the room and it was disgusting. Floor wasn't hoovered, had to see some holes up in the quilt cover, wires and rubbish left on the floor and broken furniture in a room as well. Don't stay there with a pet it is not recommended and the room smelled bad
