I have used shake (Ashleigh) many times over the past few years. We have a Bournville Victorian house that while in decent shape has wanted updating since we moved in in 2013. We have had decorating in the form of -simple painting, -some skim plastering needed (for which he used a wonderful subcontractor and long time builder friend who was a delight to chat to and very knowledgeable) -installing extractors fans into walls and roofs, -oak flooring laid, -coving installation (his corner work is amazing!! Have had done before by others but now we have had him we would never go to anyone else) -bathroom floor tiling and whole bathroom suite replaced in a large bathroom And more... I think his real expertise is in kitchen extensions. We haven’t had the need for this yet but are planning a large extension and above garage build as soon as planning comes through. Ashleigh is booked for the work. This is a guy who is reliable, trustworthy and plain old nice to work with. It’s someone you will see around a lot and trust and enjoying their company I think is essential. Due to lots of work being done recently and planned we have actually chosen to let him keep a set of keys. I trust him implicitly. His finish and attention to detail is second to none, he is the tidiest builder ever. He will protect floors with special sticky plastic, hoovers up after himself each night and treats your property with upmost respect. While you do pay for the quality, it isn’t extortionate and prior to him, cheaper people have been used which ended up costing most money or time to repair errors. This would NOT happen with him. He also has a great imagination so any issues that arise during a build he has an amazing Engineering mind that will work out a quick and really clever answer to a problem in no time (you know how Victorian houses can throw unexpected curve balls!)
