    Poor Customer Service & Useless 3 Years Warranty Review regarding customer service and the following items purchased from SGS Engineering. SGS 52cc Petrol Grass Trimmer / Brush Cutter Product Code: GPS520 SGS 52cc 5in1 Multi Tool Garden Set: Chainsaw, Trimmer, Strimmer & Brush Cutter Product Code: GPM501 I have bought a few items from this company over the years and also recomended them to friends who have also made purchases. My first item was a strimmer GPS520 (2016) and it seemed good quality and worked for around 3 years, then started having issues so I bought another. This time the 5 in 1 (GPM501) strimmer, having only used it for a couple of hours in 2022 when i bought it and a couple of hours this week May 2023 it stopped working, I used their online help guid to try find the issue , spending almost 2 days stripping and doing various checks only to find that the fuel line had broken in half inside the tank. I emailed SGS and requested a replacement , as the fuel line should not have broken like this. They tried fobbing me off saying that it may have been my fault if I left fuel in it, when stored and this may have rot the fuel line, which i didn't and fuel line are to an extent non rotting special rubber otherwise they'd burst into flames. So I was told that I could purchase the fuel line set for 9.99 plus vat + post. I then explained that this should not have happened as it is a manufacture fault. then they said they'll send the fuel line set but i need to pay the post alost £7 for a piece of rubber pipe that costs around £2, if that. Shocking customer service , the 3 year warranty is seems if worthless and , they will try and make excuses before they will accept responsibility. Very very disappointed , as the service I received from this company a few years ago when they started off was superb, but seems to have gone downhill so much. I will certaintly hesistate before buying anything from them again and can't possibly recomend them. certainly for devices like this type of 5 in 1 strimmer which is also available from Lidl and Aldi who honour their 3 year warranties without this hassle and certainly don't charge post for returns and repair under the warranty. NOT RECOMENDED !

    I purchased a set of NitroLift replacement gas struts for an Audi A4 Avant from SGS. Order Ref: 100991706 - NitroLift Audi A4 Avant 2001-2007 Tailgate / Boot Gas Strut, placed on 11th October 2022. Seven months later these have started to corrode and rust, aren't working properly and are 'squeaking'. I emailed the company requesting that these be replaced under warranty the response I received was: "As you live by the sea, the struts are exposed to sea air, which does contain more moisture and salt which does accelerate rusting. We are happy to have your struts returned back to us for inspection under your warranty. Please can you securely repackage the item back in the original packaging or any suitable packaging you have, tape the below returns note to the outside of the parcel and send it back to us? Most of our customers do this via parcel 2 go or parcel hero as they are the most competitive in pricing. We will let you know as soon as we have received this & it has been inspected, if there is a manufacturing fault we will repair or replace it under the warranty. However, I do have to advise that if there isn't a manufacturing fault you would be liable for costs (please do not be alarmed I just have to advise you of this)." What an absolute joke, are their products designed only to function in a clean room environment rather than when fitted to an actual vehicle that is in use? How do I safely get my dog in and out of the car if I remove the struts and return them before getting the replacements? Also, if SGS *decide* that there's no manufacturing fault they have the audacity to say I will incur costs. There's clearly a fault, you can see in the photo I provided them with!

    Quite the worst Customer Service experienced in a very long time. Purchased two caravan gas struts SGS claimed to be an exact match for original part numbers. They were weaker than the ones I needed to replace! Requested a video of me compressing the strut which I provided and was advised it was satisfactory. Then asked for further video with struts put back in situ. Fitting and then replacing originals is a long job because of restricted access and I had already endured that - not easy at my advanced age. Had no choice but to demand refund, returning at my cost! Whole attitude of SGS was that I was making the problem up, though they have never disputed the items were faulty until I asked for postal cost refund as refund provided did not cover initial shipping charge! Claimed my return was due to “buyer remorse”. Just appalling!

    Absolute joke of a company!!! 10 day old item breaks. Told replacement would be arranged for the Tuesday. Rang up on the Tuesday to be told the PART isn't available? So SGS are expecting the consumer to repair a 10 day old piece of equipment that is broken? So what, I'll invalidate my warranty? If this was mentioned on the Friday, I'd have fixed the item myself. Very unimpressed with SGS, unprofessional response on the phone also. Shame as I thought the company was highly regarded.

    DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. Tool quality not as good as advertised. When contacted about the issues, customer service were rude and they blamed all of the issues on myself (accusing me of storing the tools outside and letting them get wet amongst other things) rather than accepting the tools had faults. Rather take my chances with the middle of Lidl than SGS engineering!
