    This was the single best experience I’ve ever had in a salon! From start to finish - the service provided was professional reliable and reassuring. As a first time customer I’m not only hugely impressed - I booked in for my next appt on the spot. I initially booked in for a relaxer service but the owner personally called me and gave me a detailed consultation and advised me about how to achieve the style and flexibility I wanted without chemically damaging my hair. She recommended the texture release which she gave me plenty of information on - having seen a picture of my natural hair. When I got in the salon I was welcomed by a lovely hairdresser who was also knowledgeable! The salon was clean professional relaxing and more. I am so happy with the service and would recommend to anyone with natural African hair.

    I have really struggled to get to grips with my daughter’s tight curls. I read books, followed influencers on Instagram, and spent a lot of money trialling many different products but ultimately I wasn’t getting it right! I praise the day that I stumbled on Sam’s website and booked an appointment with her. The salon itself is beautiful and Sam has been incredibly helpful in educating me on how to care for and style hair that is so very different from my own – being a white mum to mixed heritage girls. Sam has such high standards, and she is not letting you leave the salon without mastering your child’s hair! I felt like she wanted my children’s hair to look good just as much as I did! Sam’s aftercare is also fabulous she gave me a game plan for what I should be doing in-between visits and let me know how to care for their hair to keep it in the best possible condition. Sam is also on the end of the phone / WhatsApp for any of the questions you have after you leave the salon – that’s an amazing service in my eyes! It proves how she goes above and beyond. I know my girls have felt frustrated by their hair in the past due to my lack of skills, but now I have Sam to help me I can see their confidence and self-esteem growing!     My first experience at SG Hair was positive. The manager greeted me personally and complimentary hot drinks were lovely. I was so very happy with the results of my service (conditioning treatment, silk press and trim). The whole experience was very relaxing and I left feeling well-treated. After being natural for 12 years and numerous failed attempts at straightening my own hair, I honestly didn't think my hair could stay straight for longer than a day! But SG's professional staff did a great job and made recommendations to help maintain the health of my hair and to preserve my style. My hair is still sleek 2 weeks after the service! - and no, it's not heat-damage, I tested a few strands of shed hair under water: they curled right back up!

    I went to visit Sam as I have been on this natural hair journey now for 4 years and wasn't happy with how I was doing my treatment and styling at home. Sam suggested to come in with all the tools and products I use at home and demonstrate to her in the salon how I was using them. It was like infront of you omg lol 😂 but I must say she showed me the techniques from how to dry what products to use next how to straighten the hair and protect it. This advice has been so valuable as I was doing the right thing nearly just needed to change my products and now I have been able to maintain my hair at home without damaging it.     I initially came to SG hair as I had heard from word of mouth that the owner was an outstanding hairdresser who specialised in hair care before anything else. I was previously getting texture release at another salon, however my hair began to break off in the middle due to the technique that was being used. I started going to SG hair for my texture release in June 2021, having this done every 8/10 weeks with a treatment in between my hair is now flourishing more than ever. Regardless of the hair in my problem area now almost grown back to its full length in less than a year, I will always continue to go to SG hair as they provide a great service and allow you to learn about your hair and teach you how to care for your hair away from the salon.
