My grandad would go there, separated from my nan, in year 1999. While there he would seem upset and withdrawn. There was thieving staff there and staff that hit out at their patients and mocked them. On one of my visits one of the patients was crying (really sobbing) 'they kill you here. They kill you' (her words). A few months later a lady is announced in a death section of a newspaper from this home. Apparently she got a sharp object and stuck it in her mouth to stab the back of her throat. Her family were convinced that on their visits she seemed happy and they believe the home is lying about her cause of death. Months after that, my grandad died from heart failure. The staff lied on the phone saying he was now ok and comfortable. After his death, we find out from our GP practice that the home contacted them to stop his heart medication as apparently 'he no longer needed it' the home told them. Liars! That's why he died in year 2000 just months before my nan died
