    Once they sell you a car anything else is a burden & they ignore your calls. Sold me a dodgy car & i ended up paying for the countless repairs. Awful experience with selective motors wouldn’t recommend.

    Brilliant service from selective motors. Phoned up to enquire and paid a deposit by phone. Went down the next day by train and I was met by a driver at the station in the car I was buying. After arriving at the dealership the owner was kind and attentive to get all the paper work done. The Peugeot 3008 got a good run back to my home town and it’s running fine. In the future I would consider travelling 80 miles to buy a car from them again. It’s been a pleasure doing business with you and I hope to business again in the future

    Avoid at all cost! All started well at the point of sale with a very friendly Harry but turned out the sales speech was all porkies. Went from trouble to trouble with the car from day 1, costing us a lot of money on top of an already expensive purchase price and a lot of time without the car while being fixed by a proper garage. SMD was completely unhelpful with all of it. Bear in mind Selective Motors Direct is not a garage, they just resale cars from a yard and hide behind a supposedly warranty that actually covers nothing cause they are more exceptions to the cover than things it covers for (Autogroup). Was given an invoice of supposedly replaced parts such as filters which had to be replaced a few months after purchase after being stranded on the side of the road. A very long and painful story with this car which is still causing us troubles to this day 12 months down the line. Save yourself the troubles and buy your car from a proper garage instead.

    Viewed a car, and Harry was not pushy. Let me look around the car, test drove, and I decided I wanted it. Put the finance through which was quick and easy. Car had 5 months MOT left, but Harry put it through a new MOT and a service. The process was smooth, with good communication, and I picked the car up within 3 days of viewing. Excellent service and professional throughout. Will definitely be back for another car for the wife soon.

    My wife and I were in the market to trade in my old BMW for something newer and fun, as we have a family MPV for when we need to go out as a family. I found a car on Auto Trader, and decided to reach out and plan to go see it. I spoke to a young person on the phone, answered all my questions, including the transfer of my private plate from my old car to my new car. He advised me this was something they can do for me. They never did this, I ended up doing it. We went to see the car, took it for a drive, loved it, I had a good chat with Tony, the owner who had been using the car as his daily driver for a few years, made a plan of some body work they were going to have tidied up, and then service it MOT and then bring it down to me and then take my BMW away. We had another one we were seeing, didn't like it so made contact and decided to go with the TT from Selective Motors. I forgot to get a look at the paperwork (my fault as I had a lot going on that day) so asked if they could send me images or a video over WhatsApp or message as they and I are on iPhone. I was advised he would. Nothing came through on that Monday. Tuesday we planned to go see family who lived locally to the car, so stopped in to see if we could get a look and pay a deposit. No effort was made to find the paperwork, so still could see it. Wouldn't take a deposit as they wanted me to be happy with the paperwork. It wasn't until Wednesday midday that images of the paperwork came through because I mentioned I saw an Audi pouch in the glove box on the test drive. A deposit was then made. The car was delivered, body work looked amazing, apart from a new scratch that wasn't there when we went to see it. Paperwork was in order, apart from one thing, no V5 new keepers. No V5 whatsoever. I looked to go tax the vehicle and was advised as it wasn't entered in to the motor trade so I can't just apply to be the new owner on a V62, I have to contact DVLA directly. Looking on the gov website, the car hadn't been taxed since April 2019. I reached out to Selective Motors and spoke to Harry, who told me that they would cover the cost of the new V5 using the V62 (they did this) But I couldn't tax the vehicle as I had no documents to suggest it was mine. I tried to reach out starting at 15:35pm to Harry, he said that Jake who dropped off the car should have said about that. (he didn't). I then stopped getting any replies and was then getting worried that something was not right on this car. Not Taxed and no V5 document to speak of, the company registered on the V5 wasn't the one I bought the car from. I reached out to my bank who advised me this is a common type of APP scam, which only concerned me more. When I was speaking to Tony, I felt he was genuine, open and honest, but Harry seemed to be so unbothered by this. I got a reply at 1850 that evening its gone closing hours, well it wasn't when it had started asking questions, I was just ignored. I was told it wasn't serious and they will tax it for me and I just need to apply to DVLA using the V62 form. Which DVLA have advised me can take anywhere from 6 weeks to 10 weeks to get back to me due to having to verify with the current owner due to Selective Motors not putting it in to the motor trade when they took it in. The body work is amazing, I would never know there was any defects on the car where they have had repaired. NO service was carried out as we agreed on, I know this from 2 reasons, the air filter is filthy and the service gauge when read was April 2019! No new MOT was added to the car which I was advised by Harry on the Thursday, I was advised it was booked for Friday, this was not done. My mother in law had to go there twice to get a boot liner, which was meant to be in the car on delivery, I messaged Harry at 0845 that morning but was ignored. I assume it was removed due to a water leak in the boot, to stop it getting mouldy! I would be very careful of this place, and double check everything. MOSTLY PAPERWORK! Deal with Tony only
