FAQ
What types of seafood do you farm?
At SeaGrown, we primarily farm seaweed species such as dulse, nori, and sea lettuce. We also harvest mussels from our offshore farms. What is the source of the feed for the fish or seafood you farm?
As a seaweed and mussel farm, we do not feed our crops. Seaweed is an autotroph, meaning it produces its own food through photosynthesis. Mussels are filter-feeders, meaning they consume plankton and other small organisms that are naturally present in the water.Do you have any certification or accreditation for your aquaculture practices?
Yes, we are certified by the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) for our sustainable seaweed farming practices. We are also members of the British Seaweed Producers Association (BSPA) and follow their guidelines for responsible and ethical seaweed cultivation. What sustainable farming practices do you use?
At SeaGrown, we use a number of sustainable farming practices, including offshore farming to minimize impact on coastal ecosystems, using biodegradable materials for our lines and nets, and following strict harvesting guidelines to prevent overfishing. We also prioritize regenerative farming practices, such as crop rotation and using seaweed as a natural fertilizer to improve soil health and reduce the need for synthetic fertilizers.Reviews

I bought some of the seaweed hand and body cream at the fish and ships festival in whitby this year, the skin on my hands was splitting and bleeding, leading to having plasters on constantly. Even saw GP but nothing worked. Since I have been using it 2-3 times a day, they have cleared up completely! No more plasters!! With the weather getting colder I have a small split but keep using the cream at least once a day to keep on top of it! I'm really impressed with it. It lasts for ages! Just bought a new tub from Scarborough Sparkle to help me through winter!! Thank you!
