I've visited the temple for over a decade. The monks and sangha are kind, welcoming and very hospitable. They invite me to their beautiful celebrations and I'm overjoyed to learn about the Burmese culture. Their food is also quite delicious. Venerable Uttara, chief monk, has boundless energy, he's always bright, alert and freely offers genuine and sincere teaching. The ceremonial bracelet they give is a priceless blessing. Goenka the father of the international Vipassana meditation courses, was healed by and learned from Burmese Buddhist monks. Their awarenes and knowledge is so rich, deep and powerful. I would love to learn their philosophical approach but there are no english versions of their books, that I'm aware off. I'm very grateful to this unassuming monastery where they treat every visitor so respectfully and always uplift the spirit. My only regret is I cannot speak Burmese and language barriers limit what I say. May all who live and visit here be blessed and there be peace for Burma and its gentle, beautiful, and cultured people.

I needed to pray but they told me: come back tomorrow. Every temple is closed in London. You are not able to pray. Only maybe on Sunday morning. But you have problems on other days, too.
