You can visit the woods, fields and little rivers that inspired Tolkein to write about Middle Earth. My photos include the ford over the River Cole, which became the Ford of Bruinen.

We did the Tolkien tour today, fantastic for just £10. Tour guide Ash was very knowledgeable made it interesting and funny. We saw the original Middle Earth including inspiration for The Shire, Mordor, Two Towers, Eye of Sauron and the Dead Marshes. Lovely shop and museum, clots of info on other local places we could visit that inspired Middle Earth. Pizza was excellent too!

Went for Sunday lunchtime pizzas and despite it being relatively quiet were asked to wait for half an hour before ordering so they could catch-up. Not great but ok. We order drinks and sat and waited the requested half hour to only then be told they no longer had any cheese so couldn't do any more pizzas and had no other savory offerings. Communication was awful and the apology was very lacking.
